Top Customer Reviews
This fabric has a bit of a cross-hatch pattern (similar to rip-stop fabric) with no stretch while the ST short fabric is smooth with a bit of stretch. This fabric also seems a bit thinner as far as seeing panty lines with the lighter color.
These have a button closure above the zipper, zippers on the hand pockets, side cargo pockets with plastic snaps, and two velcro pockets on the back. The ST pants have two snaps above the zipper, regular hand pockets, one zippered pocket on the side, and two velcro pockets on back. The pockets on both shorts are sewn down so they won't bunch up.
In a size ten, the bottom of the leg opening on these is at least an inch wider than on the ST shorts which do fit much closer. The waist and rise are about the same with the ST short fabric stretching anywhere except the waist.
The overall look of these isn't as clean and classy as the ST shorts. The belt loops are thicker, and there is more stitching throughout (the rear pockets on the ST shorts are VERY inconspicuous while these are more visible even though they have the same basic design). These also have an extra seam horizontal across the back of the thigh that the ST shorts do not have.
For reference I am 5' 7" and weigh an athletic 143. My hips are just under 38" and waist is 30". These pants fit my shape pretty much exactly, but they were snug all over. I can tell that the next size up would be too big. So it's safe to say that these shorts are just not for me. I am giving them 3 stars because the quality is good and the length is pretty nice. It's just the sizing that is way off.
