I would have LOVED this rain jacket except it has NO liner whatsoever, and if you are wearing a short sleeve top, your skin will definitely stick to the rubberlike membrane found on the underside of the fabric. Many rainy days in California are actually quite warm, so I would not want to wear anything long-sleeved underneath this jacket, and I found the feeling of the gummy membrane rubbing against my bare skin uncomfortable.
Luckily, there is a good similar lightweight rain jacket substitute that has a thin mesh lining, the highly rated
Columbia Women's Arcadia II Jacket, Black, Medium
. The only downside is that the Arcadia II Jacket does not have underarm zippers, but honestly, I did not care much for the look of the Evapouration jacket with the underarm vents unzipped since they made the jacket puff out funny, unlike my heavier NorthFace rain jacket, which looks just fine with the underarm vents fully unzipped.
As many others pointed out, it is recommended to get either the Evapouration or Arcadia II Columbia rain jackets in a size or two larger than you would normally wear, especially if you want any room for wearing anything thick underneath.
