Product description

There are times when you simply don’t need a thick winter coat. However, when a thin wind-breaker or rain jacket won’t do the job either, Columbia offers a perfect women’s parka that keeps you warm, dry, and comfortable. This rain jacket is that perfect in-between coat to wear when it’s rainy, but not too cold. This comfortable women’s parka has been designed with a back-venting system that helps to improve breathability. It also features a water-resistant outer shell for added protection against the elements. Whether it’s raining, sprinkling, or even snowing, this jacket will keep you warm and dry – regardless of the weather.

Columbia has infused a lot of advanced technology materials in the construction of this ladies’ all-weather parka. The outer shell is made from 100% nylon, the lining core is 100% polyester, and the sleeves are 100% nylon 210T taffeta. Professionally sewn, this advanced technology works together to keep you comfortable and dry. Columbia has also added a few extra features that improve comfort, such as zippered hand pockets, an adjustable belt, cuff tabs, and a weather-resistant hood. The superior materials that make up this women’s winter parka are both water and stain repellent. The jacket is machine washable for easy cleaning when you need it.

This winter jacket is made with a modern classic fit, which is a universal easy fit for a comfortable range of motion. The built-in adjustable belt tightens securely for a precise fit. To ensure the perfect fit, follow these steps for measuring and refer to the size chart. To determine the neck size, measure at the base or thickest part of your neck. For the sleeves, start at the center back of your neck and measure across the shoulder and down to the wrist. Round up to the next even number. For the chest, measure at the fullest part of the chest, under the armpits and over the shoulder blades, keeping the tape measure firm and level.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have for travel or day-to-day wear
By T.J. on October 31, 2016
I am SO HAPPY with this purchase. First of all, I'm not sure why it's so hard to find a rain jacket that extends past the butt. Who wants their jeans to get soaking in a rain storm??

I took a backpacking trip to London and to avoid taking up some of my precious backpack space for an umbrella, I decided to opt for a rain jacket instead. A big plus is how lightweight this coat is - I could pack it in my backpack and not worry about the 10 kg weight limit. What I love about this jacket in particular is that it's cute enough to just be a normal jacket too, so I wore it almost every day. On nicer days I wore my pleather jacket and on really cold days I layered this jacket on top of the pleather one. That's right, on top of! The sleeves are loose enough that you can do this easily, but the built in belt means you can cinch it in at the waist to not be so bulky.

So I actually bought this in two sizes initally (XS and S). I'm 5'4 ~115 lbs and knew I wanted to be able to fit bulkier clothes underneath and use this as a shell. I ended up keeping the XS and, like I said, still had room for a thick pleather jacket and normal clothes underneath, so I'd say this runs large. It has looser sleeves which is why I think I could layer under the XS.

I wear this all the time now even when it's not raining. If you are traveling and are a minimalist I'd dare to say this coat is essential. It's not overly warm so it can be worn just about year round depending on what you wear underneath it. My only wishlist would be an interior chest pocket for storing valuables when you want to keep your hands in the pockets.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not suitable for actual rain, not remotely "waterproof"
By Jaimarie on October 14, 2016
This is a cute, lightweight jacket that works fine in light rain. It utterly fails, however, when the rain is more than a light drizzle. After walking my dog for about 20 minutes in steady, but by no means torrential rain, I was soaked through to the skin. For reference, I was wearing three layers- a t-shirt, a cardigan sweater, and this "rain" jacket. I had to take off all three when I came home, and the jacket had to go straight to the dryer. I was wearing it with the hood up, zipped and snapped to the chin. The added pic is how I looked directly after removing the jacket. I considered rating at 3 stars because if you do not live in a particularly rainy area, this may suit your needs. That doesn't negate the fact, however, that the product description misidentifies this as suitable for rain.

5.0 out of 5 stars My New Favorite Coat!
By Tricia McGraw on April 18, 2017
I bought this jacket for my Scotland vacation in March. I absolutely adore this coat. It has enough room to add a fleece underneath for extra warmth, but also serves as a great light coat on mild/windy days. I loved its diversity. It kept me dry while I got caught in the rain there, and the hood fully covered my head. I liked the breathing piece in the back while hiking and also loved the deep pockets. The tie in the front gives a feminine twist, so I was able to dress it up or down. I am 5'4'' and about 120 lbs. I bought a size small and thought it fit perfectly! The pictures below are of me happily wearing my new favorite coat in Scotland.

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy with my purchase!
By Kelly on May 4, 2017
I needed a light waterproof raincoat from a brand I can trust. Also wanted a little length to it in case my backside needed coverage too. So, I searched for a North Face one but couldn't bring myself to pay $150 or more without looking around first. When I saw this one, its ratings and the price, I had to give it a shot.

It fits all my requirements: its waterproof, lightweight, mid-length, hooded, trusted brand, good for layering (visiting Iceland in the summertime). The price was icing on top of the cake.

I am 5 ft flat, about 118 lbs. I got the XS and it fits well with room for layering. The tie-waist is very flattering. There's a mesh lining in the upper back area, the rest doesn't. I do not like the feeling of the coat on my bare skin and it gets a little warm when buttoned/zipped up. There's also a drawstring for the hood. Another plus I didn't expect is that there are two inside pockets.

It rained today so I got a chance to test it out and it kept me dry in the light rain. Haven't tested on anything heavy yet, but so far I'm happy with my purchase.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute light jacket
By Gao on April 20, 2017
I am 4'11" 100lbs. I ordered an extra small. It is a little big in me but not terribly bad. I can probably fit a sweater or hoodie underneath comfortably. The zipper is a little finicky. It takes me a bit of time to zip up. The color looks grey in the photo but is more of a olive green color. I dont hate it, I just have too many green jackets already. I like the waste tie. It gives the jacket just the right feminine touch. I bought this jacket for a trip coming up. I'm able to roll this jacket into it's hood for easy storage in my suit case.
