Formed in Essen, Germany in 1982, Kreator are arguably the most influential and successful European thrash metal band ever, like many of their European speed metal brethren, Kreator fused Metallica's thrash innovations with Venom's proto-black metal imagery. Often referred to as one of the "Big 4" of Teutonic thrash metal, and they are often credited with helping pioneer death metal and black metal by containing several elements of what was to become those genres. The band has achieved worldwide sales of over two million units for combined sales of all their albums, making them one of the best-selling German thrash metal bands of all time. The band’s style has changed several times over the years, from a Venom-inspired speed metal sound, later moving in to thrash metal, and including a period of transitioning from thrash to industrial metal and gothic metal throughout the 1990s. In the early 2000s, Kreator returned to their classic thrash sound, which has continued to the present. Kreator’s fifth album, Coma Of Souls came towards the end of the thrash metal explosion of the 1980’s and retained their classic thrash sound whilst combining more melodic elements of classic metal bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. Critically acclaimed by both fans and press, Coma of Souls was a strong, firm step forward for the band, it proved they weren’t content to sit and wallow in the thrash back waters but were determined to move into a new decade with a bold, thrusting sound.

I’d 100% recommend this 2018 Coma of Souls Remastered. Be sure to get Kreator’s first for albums also.
Awesome reproduction of the cover with matte finish. Not sure why they added the barbed wire border though.
Sounds really good to me.
First LP is the album. The other 2 are a live album.
I honestly could have just bought the album with regular sleeve and album and been satisfied. The live recording sounds great though and justified the price.
All of these Noise records reissues have been really good. I personally have Kreator, Celtic Frost and Voivod
The 2018 reissued CD version includes a bonus live disc that's almost 80 minutes long, and features five songs from Coma of Souls and several others from their earlier albums. The Coma of Souls material sounds great live, and the older songs make me want to check out Kreator's previous albums like Pleasure to Kill and Terrible Certainty.
Highly recommended for thrash metal fans.
As far as the music itself, although many list Pleasure to Kill as Kreator's best album, to me it is Coma of Souls. And its not close.
Live staples like Terror Zone, People of the Lie and When The Sun... are all great songs.
But for my money, everything that Thrash Metal is about starts at 4:08 of Material World Paranoia. If you can listen to that riff and not want to destroy everything in sight, you don't like Metal. I want to throw my computer through a window just posting about it.
Do you yourself a favor and buy this...and the other Remasters for that matter...Now!
