I don't know what took me so long to finally try these out. I had them on my radar for YEARS but was always apprehensive about buying a pair simply because of the mixed reviews they seemed to have as well as the fact that I already owned so many nippers and strippers already. But the time came where I was trying to simplify my kit and I'm always a sucker for tools that perform multiple functions so I finally bit the bullet and ordered them. I got a 5.00 discount and they were delivered literally 12 hours later, so that was just a bonus on Amazon's part.
Anyway, I immediately took them to task on the most common wires I use, 20ga solid core, 22ga stranded and solid, and a very miniscule 24ga stranded core. They performed flawlessly in cutting and especially stripping. I didn't even have a technique developed yet and they still did exactly what I wanted them too. Amazing.
The only slight disadvantage I can see is that they take a bit more effort cutting a wire than typical nippers, just because you're working against the pair of springs but they cut like butter. In fact, you feel no resistance at all from the wire when cutting.
I haven't used them for much larger wire, but I imagine I will go for the bigger pair when and if I ever need to. If you're like me and work on analog equipment like Amps, Guitars, Pedals, Radios, etc. You are most likely using around the same gauge of wire as I do and let me tell you... In this realm I can't imagine using anything else for stripping wire now as these make for incredibly quick work. Hopefully they last a while because I intend on using these daily.
