I need to add some reviewers are referring to her as a make. FRANCIS J. ROBERTS WAS A FEMALE. ( Please Google to verify)
Each passage can be read as a stand alone, jumping around reading out of order is just as meaningful as reading cover to cover, you're sure to find favorites that you'll want to read over and over again.
To me, this book is a vehicle to jump start my prayers, and also just to meditate on it's truths
. Here is a few lines of an example:
The title is "The Burden Bearer" The verse is Deut. 8:16. "He might test you, to do you good in the end."
"My child, do not share your burdens with all who come to you professing concern. I, Myself, am the great burden-bearer. You need not look to another. I will lead you and guide you in wisdom from above. All things will be as I plan them, if you allow Me the freedom to shape circumstances and lead you to the right decisions. I am merciful and kind. I love you beyond measure. I intend to do you good; and I will bring to you those who can truly help, if you leave all in My hands."
Every devotion is rich in scriptural truths and will bring scripture to your mind as you read. I can't reccommend this book enough! Most of these devotions were written back in the 60's and 70's, and I would love to see a whole new generation latch onto these writings and grow in their faith with them!
Frances J. Roberts has written 4 other devotionals that are just as rich in this same vein. I am hoping that they too will be published in pocket-size form also. All my copies of his writings are getting pretty worn!
