Sinatra is beloved by old and young. This is not the music that I grew up with but his music is timeless. I love Sinatra, but recently started listening to his individual released album. All of his standard greatest hits are great but to hear how great the man was, you need to start listening to his album. This 1958 release sounds like an album for airline advertisement but they are great songs and Sinatra was at the top of his game in this recording. There is a debate that his voice matures as he got older and actually sounded better. I think both young Frank and old Frank sound amazing. You don’t hear a voice like his anymore. I love MIchael Buble but he can’t hold his candle against Frank Sinatra. And with all technology we have in producing a music, I still think for this type of songs, music from this era is better. When you hear this excellent LP repress, you can feel the fullness of the music that no advance technology can replace. This was a real man’s voice with a real music with no auto tuning. You hear exactly what they are playing and man...this is what a music is all about. And if you are a vinyl lover like myself, this is the one to get.

OK... this vinyl is just way great! I use really good turntable/cartridge equipment but that doesn’t matter here. This is just a way great vinyl pressing.

It originated in the Netherlands, and I consider that as an amazingly great thing! I have owned fantastic vinyl pressings created in Europe and consider them all superior. Also from other countries... just do your homework and find out what lathe they use and how long they hold each pressing in the press. Anyway...

This one is good. Just buy it, take care of it, and enjoy it!

With his 1957 Come Fly With Me recording, Sinatra continued his theme based album concept - all the songs on this date are about travel. The arrangements and lyrics capture perfectly the mood of the country in 1957, somewhat sleepy, comfortable, dreaming of getting away, the concern for the massive problems of race relationships about to erupt remaining tucked away in our collective subconscious. And that's probably the point with Sinatra; he had that elegance that could make you forget about whatever travail bothered you or was about to bother you. Even the album cover- a perfect rendition of a TWA turbo prop Constellation- harkens you back to an era when it was simpler, if not altogether safer to cast your fate to the wind and get on a plane and go somewhere. But just when you thought it was safe to snooze through this collection, Sinatra almost screams "Hey, pack up, let's fly away." OK Frank. Take me where thou wilst.

This mono CFWM is great fun and belongs in any Sinatra collection. But know what you are getting and what to expect! 12 tracks only, just like the original LP. More detail in a lot of the band parts. For example, you can hear the harp in the title track. Lots more to explore. (Much has been written as to the simultaneous stereo and mono versions recorded in the early days of stereo)
Vocally, Frank sounds a bit more distant than on some of the stereo versions, notwithstanding there is only a single performance represented by the various versions.
The mp3's offered by Amazon are quite good considering they are, after all, not in a format known for sonic excellence.

I'm a big fan of Frank Sinatra and I've known all these songs for a long time, they're great. Point is I bought the LP record for the sound quality, which in my opinion is better than digital. This mono recording has: very, very little surface noise, excellent pressing quality and is a joy to listen to. I play LP's on a Pro-Ject Ginnie 1.3 with a Dennon DL110 cartridge through a 10db 'step up' into a vintage Luxman r-1050 connected to vintage/refurbished two way Sansui / JBL SP-L200 speakers for a very good sound.
