First of all, I must applaud the author. This is apparently her very first novel, but it's so well written and so entertaining, I'm impressed.

This book has it all:

A woman finding herself. Married to a very wealthy man, you'd think Kate has it all. But in truth, despite her riches, she seriously lacks some of the most important things: her husband's love and respect. He just wants a woman at home. He doesn't want her to work or anything else. She rebels in her own way by having a special charity program, but it's not enough. But when she finds what she wants, she has conflicting emotions. After all, she wants her handsome flight trainer, but she's married.

The infidelity in this novel was tastefully done. I'd like to put that out there. Don't believe me? Read it for yourself. You'll see what I mean.

A man learning to trust again. Daredevil pilot Rick doesn't have much love for women, just their bodies, and there's a story behind this...but Kate gets past his rough exterior.

Conflict. Hey. Crap happens. Some major stuff goes down in the last quarter of the book and it just may keep the two lovebirds apart.

Adventure. Incredible flying scenes throughout the novel add that feeling of adventure long before the ending involving a third-world country, stolen rubies, and jail time. We almost learn to fly the Lear along with Kate. When Rick teaches her take off with a stalled engine, when she has her flight test, my heart was pounding along with her.

I could sit here all day telling you why I enjoyed this book. At first the heroine wasn't as feisty as I like, but by the end, she was the kind of woman who tells off customs officials for mistaking her for a flight attendant. Readers will watch Kate grow, come out of her shell, gain some confidence, find love, and learn to forgive.

Once I started this novel, I couldn't put it down. I read it in a day. That's how hooked I was.

Judith Whitmore has finely crafted a love story of two people brought together through their love of flight. Come Fly With Me is an engrossing tale of Kate Randolph and Rick Sanders who find themselves, and one another, as they take to the sky. This is more than a summer read. Kate and Rick will stay with you long after you set this book down. Planes flying overhead will have a different meaning for you after you have flown with them. This is a book you will happily share with others. Linda W.

I read this book as part of a Twitter Book Club, a group of authors and myself started..if interested in joining, you can let me know @mchorsky.
Judith Whitmore wrote a wonderful story about a woman named, Kate Randolph. You will fall in love with her. She is in her 30’s and married to Sam Randolph, who is thirty years her senior. While many question such a love; especially his son (Derek), she is definitely in love with him.
While she has all the luxuries money can buy, she is still not as happy as she should be. She feels rather alone. Kate is a very talented woman, and has a lot to offer as a teacher. But, once she married Sam, she stopped teaching. So, she opened a charity for “latch key girls” called Safe Haven…which her husband does not support, even with all of his money.
Kate then meets Rick Sanders, who was an Airline Transport Pilot. Of course, Sam has a Lear Jet, and Rick often serves as the pilot. Kate and Rick meet, and they get the “butterflies”. Yet, Kate is not willing to give up on her marriage.
This story surprised me, as it was chuck full of greatness. I was surprised by how much storyline was in this book, as I truly expected just a love story…But, it was much more than that.
I never got bored with this book, and that says a lot, because stories over 300 pages tend to bore me at some point.
You will love this story…read it by the beach, or outside…I read it on the couch, wishing weather was nice, so I could go lay on my hammock ..

"She had relied too much on men to take care of her, to heal her, to make her feel safe......"She didn't need anyone to take care of her anymore. She could and would take care of herself"...."Now she could fly." These lines from the book, Come Fly With Me, conveyed the mindset of a woman, Kate Randolph, who was torn between accepting then taking charge of her own life. Flying on the wings of love and passion played a major role in this well-written and knowledgable book on flying by Author, Judith Whitmore. The love Kate had for flying and the freedom it allowed, and her love for her husband, Sam, and eventually a true passionate love of Rick Sanders, her flight instructor played well. Rick shared with Kate the beauty of flying and how soaring love can be with a soul mate you were always meant to be with. Come fly with Judith Whitmore for a tale of aviation, planes, and love in all the right exotic places. Well-done, Judith.

I think what I liked best was the little plug for Jimmy Buffett and "Five O'Clock Somewhere" but no, I really enjoyed the whole book. The fact that the author is a pilot herself added a touch of reality to the flying sequences and her descriptions of Santomar made me crave an island visit ! Great job, let's have some more so scurry back to the computer Judith and do another one!
