DVD is nothing special. everything that is on the DVD is now on youtube (even the special features), thanks to this day-in-age. but because i love kenny and spenny so much, I just had to support them both. the show is hilarious and smarter than it may seem, i promise. DVD is just not worth buying, however, unless you want a physical copy of some episoodes, like i did.

Great collection of the comedy central aired episodes, plus a few extras. Great for fans of KvS. but if you've seen these episodes and want a more absurd rendition of KvS, I suggest you get the Canadian episodes, because they are insane (or just get both, there aren't any repeats on this or the link I put in)

If you are inclined to get just one Jackie Mason DVD, this would likely be your best choice. It offers the most comprehensive look at Mason and his humor.
The first third of the DVD is a documentary-style biography of the comedian, including snippets from some of his trademark stand-up performances. The biographical sketch shows facets of Mason that even some of his most devoted fans might not have known about before. I knew his first public appearances were as a Rabbi, with his father pressuring him to continue the rabbinical tradition of the family. He has made frequent reference to that Jazz Singer part of his life. Most of his fans also will likely have known about his career-altering misunderstanding with Ed Sullivan.
But I didn't know he also crossed swords with Frank Sinatra. And I was delighted to finally be introduced to his long-term love interest. He has usually shied away from such invasions of his privacy, but here we meet, albeit briefly, the woman responsible for re-popularizing Mason as a theatrical attraction and for being his partner through several turbulent decades. She's an unexpected delight.
The second part of this DVD shows one of Mason's stand-up performances in Israel. He makes a lot of hilarious observations about the differences between Jews and Gentiles. However, this is the one part of the disc that might leave you feeling just a little short-changed. The disc cover advertises that each of its triad of segments is "complete." But this stage performance seems to be cut off at the intermission. Mason announces that it's time for a break, then he makes a few more observations and leaves the stage - and that's the end. Perhaps the producers of this disc felt that any missing second half of that show just repeated material found elsewhere on the disc, such as in the third segment in which Mason accepts an award at Oxford.
The Oxford segment includes a Q & A session. It's interesting to hear what young Oxford scholars want to know about Mason and American humor. As ever, you're put on the edge of your seat anticipating Mason's answers to these questions. Will he once again take a dive off the cliff? Whether or not he does, his performances exemplify the art of being Jewish. His routines are bound to shtick with you.

Before I saw a commercial for KVS V1 I had never herd of it. So I watched a couple of episodes on Youtube and I thought the episodes were hilarious both Kenny and Spenny are funny and the compititions are funny aswell. i`m always wondering whos going to win the compitition. If you have never herd of this show its a Canadian show about 2 best freinds who compete in compititions againts each other to humiliate each other. Who ever win gets to pick a humiliation for the loser has to do. This show is definitely funny and I would recommand it 100% except for one small detail which is that I wish they put the hole season from Canada on this Comedy Central volume.

This DVD is worth the price simply for Monique's performance alone. I'm ashamed to say that I had never previously heard of Corey Holcomb until this "Comedy Jam"........the dude is completely "out there". All things considered, this is definitely one of the more entertaining comedy specials I've seen in quite a while.

This is a great video, it is wholesome comedy that you can let your children watch without concern of foul language. It is a nice blend of documentary and insight to Jackie's experiences growing up as a child and son of a rabbi, and an interesting path that this mans life has taken, really nice and refreshing to see somebody doing what he "thought" was the right thing to do, and finding what his true purpose was an further going after it and getting it done! Way to go Jackie, you are an inspiration to me and I appreciate this well done DVD, blessings!

Kenny vs Spenny is one of the best shows to come out of Canada
Reviewed in Canada on October 11, 2015Verified Purchase
Kenny vs Spenny is one of the best shows to come out of Canada. However, this DVD is not. It claims to be uncensored, but all is very heavily censored. Meaning, no swearing, no nudity, and no widescreen! Yes, the aspect ratio is not determined by the rating, but this show aired in a 16:9 ratio, but for some reason Comedy Central thought it was a great idea to convert it to 4:3, which looks terrible. I would highly suggest buying the Canadian release of this DVD, which is in fact truly uncensored and in widescreen.

Not really worth it

It's ok, but not worth the money. A lot of his routines are very similar from one performance to another. One good disc would have been better.
