Prevent Vertical Scratching + Urine Spraying
How does it work?
Cats rub their cheeks against objects to leave their facial pheromone when they feel safe. The Comfort Zone Diffuser with Feliway dispenses a drug-free, odorless vapor that mimics a cat’s natural calming pheromones. This vapor signals to your cat that the area is friendly and safe, reducing your cat’s need to spray and scratch.
Proven 90% Effective*
Comfort Zone products with Feliway are clinically proven to help reduce vertical scratching and urine spraying in 9 out of 10 cats in 28 days*.
How long does the product need to be used until noticeable positive effects are observed?
Ideally, the product should be used for at least one month. Results have been noticed as early as one week. The degree of results will also depend on behaviors of your pet, some will respond faster and better than others.
Many situations can cause your cat to behave this way:
- Multi-pet households
- Transition from shelter or breeder
- Moving, or changes to home or furniture
- New people and pets in the home

Brought in last winter a freezing short hair stray boy I found under the hood of my car (before you start the engine in the winter > ALWAYS check under the hood as they seek the lasting warmth of you car engine).
As soon as I stepped with the undocumented alien in the house, the war was on! Blood flowing. Screaming protests. Hunger strike. You name them, I witness them all.
I had to keep them separated for 8 months, or under supervision.
Plugged in the diffuser... waited 1 hour and got them together in the same room.
Nothing happened... the 2 cats behave like siblings now with the stray one as well.
Just amazing. One week later they are sleeping together.
It works. Period.
PS1. I hope the company will make one for my stray wife as well.
PS2. I'd pay big bucks for it.
Here are the problems I was having with one of my 3 cats:
1. Behaving aggressively towards the other two by attacking, biting, hunting them really
2. Meowing often, even in the middle of the night, often waking me up at 3am AND I NEED MY SLEEP!
3. Chewing almost EVERYTHING - power cords, flip-flops, the bed frame, the hard plastic handle on his brush, etc.
Last week I took him to the vet wanting him tested for hyperthyroidism and if that were not the problem, then get some sort of tranquilizer. My vet said the blood work was normal and for me to try Feliway - either that or we try a daily dose of Prozac and I'm not too keen on having to give a cat medication every day if I can avoid it.
My condo is 1100 square feet so I got 2 diffusers. One is downstairs next to their large cat tower, the other in my bedroom. They were plugged in Tuesday afternoon and by yesterday the aggressive behavior WAS GONE! I have a gentle cat and the others have now relaxed, too. THANK YOU FELIWAY! THIS IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!
No more cat attacks, no more excessive meowing - I got 10 hours of sleep last night it was wonderful!!
I have not had the territory urinating problems that Feliway says to use their product for, all of my boys always go in the litter box, I just wanted to see if it would calm the aggression expressed in other ways and it has.
1) Come up and meow at me.
2) Get on the coffee table and scatter things.
3) Knock books down.
4) Jump on the breakfast table-cum-desk and chew anything loose.
5) Dig up more paper to chew.
6) Bite electric cables.
(All done with gusto, and I usually gave up by 4.)
Within an hour after I plugged the Comfort Zone into the wall, I had a different cat. Sammy still runs the routine, but he acts zoned out--cat-atonic, you might say--as if he knows he's supposed to be bad, but can't remember how to do it. He's nicer to his sister, too, hasn't pulled a clump of hair off her flank since CZ installation! (She's as inert as ever, maybe a little more affectionate to me.) The downsides: I miss the machinations of his clever little brain, and sometimes it's so quiet now that I don't notice he hasn't quite given up his paper chewing.
The package advises using CZ for 90 days (which means 2 more expen$ive refills) to give enough time for behavior changes to really take hold. I plan to see it out and will update this review when I decide whether I like such a toned-down Sammy.
