Great record. Great songs, great production
But the promotion for this album is weak and I think many old fans of Jon b don't know about the new album.
but anyway well crafted songs and polished production.
I can't stop playing the title track loudly in my car.

Loving the new sound. Has something on here for every mood! The dance tracks are hot! And then Do U Miss me gives you that Cool Relax album feel! Love it from the beginning to the end!

Say what you want about Jon B., but he has never made the same album twice. When he released his sophomore album "Cool Relax" in 1997, it was in complete contrast to his ballad-heavy debut "Bonafide". He kept things going with the long-winded but underrated third album "Pleasures U Like". Later on in his career, he issued his most uptempo- and arguably best- recording to date "Stronger Everyday". A few years later, he brought on "Helpless Romantic"- a recording that showed him being excited about married life and parenthood. On his first album in four years, Jon B. decides to switch things up again- releasing "Comfortable Swagg", a record that shows him experimenting with new sounds and ideas. The end result is an album that makes nods to the ambient sounds of today, such as Drake and Ryan Leslie.

All of the songs were written and produced solely by Jon B. on this new effort. He makes a few songs that flirt with Eurodance and house music- more specifically, the first three songs. He romances on the title track "Comfortable Swagg", gets celebratory on "Goin' Down" as well as "Watch'n Now". On "Fill Your Cup", he reunites with DJ Quik after having appeared on his 2011 album "The Book Of David". He reconciles with his spouse on "Make Up Love" and gets sensual on the atmospheric ballad "Only One". While he has made it a point to sound different on here, the song "Do U Miss Me" sounds like the Jon B. that everyone knows and loves. Despite the album getting off to a rocky start initially, "Comfortable Swagg" shows that Jon B. has no problems with stepping outside of his comfort zone. The only problem with this album is there are a few songs that were left off it that would have made welcome additions to this project. That said, Jon B.'s album is actually worth checking out.

I am an OG Jon B fan even during the Babyface years which were proabably my least favortie. I search for Jon B's music because unfortunately he does not get the label support he very well deserves. This is his 6th album and I have every single one of them! JB has made consistent solid albums over all these years and even though he has, for the most part, had to single handedly keep his career going, but he has! His true fans know he's still making strong R & B and will always check for him. Some artists make good tracks and you find yourself skipping through most of it - I have NEVER had to do that with Jon B. Even the songs on his cds that are not my favorites are still bangers in their own way and I never have to skip past them!

JB has always delivered solid music from track a-z. With this latest effort, I can totally see his attempt to stay current, and there's certainly nothing wrong with keeping current (Going Down very Pitbully and Watch'n Now are definitely radio tunes) as long as you don't lose your identity doing so. With Comfy Swagg, I feel he has balanced the two very, very well. His music, production and lyrics are always the bomb!

I really get bummed that JB's albums don't get the airplay and that he doesn't get the attention as the great R & B artist that he really is. When I see those "whatever happened to Jon B?" posts, I fume and think "nothing you idiots" if you were a real fan, you'd know he's still cranking out bomb R & B! JB is solid, time tested, R & B artist that can certainly hang with heavy hitters the likes of Usher, Ne-Yo, (man I had to stop there because who else is doing R & B anymore??)

Hands down he is the first R & B "blue eyed soul brother" (not JT, not Thicke although they are very talented in their own rights) but by NO MEANS on the same level of my boy Jon B. I will continue to pick JB over many R & B artists every day of the week and twice on Sunday!

I am a creature of habit. I applaude any artist willing to stretch to maintain their craft, however, with this release, he may have stretched a bit too far. The first four songs I didn't care for. The remaining eight were okay, but they didn't have that smooth groove vibe that I expected from this guy. He went too far out in left field for me, and I didn't care for it like I had wanted to, at least, not like I did his past recordings. I still have it in my player...I just don't think that it will be in there too long.

After listening to the new album, I will say it took me two times to see where he was going with it. I truly felt that he stuck to his craft as far as not following the trends. I did read one review that stated that this album was distasteful and I do respect the opinion. I personally think that this album is smooth and still in style by today's grade of music. I don't believe in any way that this album is distasteful. To really complete the album you must by the 4 mp3 singles that doesn't come with the album. Then, you will understand that he hasn't lost a step. There are only a few artists that I will actually support and he is in my top ten. Please remember before Robin Thicke there was Jon B! Only time will tell as our R&B eco system revolves, how will they be remembered!
