Comics' Comics is an eclectic assortment of sketches and doodles done by comedians and comedic writers and performers. It's one of those books that you kind of never thought existed and then quickly realize how much you want it.

I was really surprised by the quality of talent in this book. There are some really big names in here from the comedy and comedic arts world including a clever assortment of drawings based on a sketch by the late Harvey Pekar which is just really cool and well done. Although this book is a time capsule of a who's who in the comedy world, some of the lesser-known comics' drawings are probably some of my favorites. Additionally, there is a little background information about everyone in the book which I found informative as well (for example, some writers whose names I didn't know but really admire their work).

It must have been an amazing experience to meet all of these contributors and the writer usually has a little anecdotal tidbit about asking the comedian to draw "whatever they think is funny". There are even some photos of the comics actually drawing the comic that they submit which is a cool experience as you're looking at the drawing they're doing.

Some of the drawings are not suitable for children but the contributors are hard-working comedians who actually work the stage so I think that goes without saying.

This book is the perfect size to stick in your backpack or purse. I carry it around with me and enjoy flipping to a random page to see a new sketch. I would definitely like to see more of these in the future as it is a really cool and unique concept.

If you know anyone who is interested in stand-up comedy (or comedy in general) this would make a really excellent gift.

With comedians like David Cross, Michael Showalter, ROBERT SMIGEL - this book has a wide variety of comics from comedians with a wide range of comedic backgrounds. I can't wait to see what Erich Beasley thinks up next!

I got this book as a gift and was surprised how much I loved it. As other's have said it is "the perfect coffee table book" but also it introduces you to comedians that you might not have heard of before. There are stars like Janeane Garofalo, Doug Benson, Andy Dick and David Cross, but also people I haven't heard of before but because of their drawings I want know see them (J. Elvis Weinstein, T. Sean Shannon and Eugene Mirman, to name a few). There some graphic drawings, but I doubt anyone would buy this book for a child. I highly recommend this for anyone with an interest in comedy.

A very insightful look into the mind of a comedian. Beasley's compilations range from amusing to sick to laugh out loud funny. A great conversation piece. Can't wait for the sequel.

This book is full of almost every hip alternative comedian working today. Any fan of off-beat comedy will love this book. David Cross, Paul F. Tompkins, David Wain, and many more of the greatest voices in comedy from the past two decades come together in one book. This is sure to end up at the top of the coffee table book pile.
