This is not my favorite genre, but the powerful plot and well-conceived characters soon took over and compelled me to read this entire book. I found myself amazed by the writing and engrossed by the story. There are plenty of twists and turns, but more important is Plummer's ability to wrench emotion out of words. "Coming Home" is desperate yet lovely, agonizing yet hopeful, dreadful yet beautiful. I recommend you take a deep breath and then give it a go.

I downloaded "Coming Home" last night and it is beautifully written! I'm only ten or so pages in but had to say something positive for this budding new author.

I started out reading and digesting every word, but before I knew it, I was IN.THE.BOOK. Seeing & experiencing it instead of reading it. You've done a wonderful job, April Plummer! Can't wait to see where this one goes.

"Coming Home" is very well-written with great character detail and development and the plot interestingly woven together to keep the reader in suspense. This is my granddaughter, April Plummer's first published book and I did not realize how gifted April's writing is! I had the book downloaded onto my Kindle and was thinking it would help April, but I was the one pleasantly surprised! I was very happy her book was through Amazon as I have an account and have gotten many great books.

As a young woman of eighteen heads out across the country in an attempt to escape a dark tragedy, she finally stops in the peaceful town of Lakeside, Montana. It's a far cry from her desperate home in Long Island City, Long Island New York. Will Isabela be able to keep her nightmares and fears of her past at bay as she tries to move on with her new life? Just when she feels her new life is coming together, the reality of her past comes crashing down on her fragile new world. With the shock of news she was unaware of, will Isabela be able to keep her new found life together, or will it once again shatter out of control? A must read of courage born of adversity and strength of will. I found Ms Plummer did an exceptional job for this genre, however it was almost too dark for me. I think a touch more humor would have given it a bit more balance.

I never know what to expect from a fellow emerging writer like myself. Some of my Twitter friends have needed some help before to gently push them toward their potential. April doesn't need that help. This is an excellent read. And yes, I did read the entire thing straight through. While not my typical genre, my writing reflects much of the happenings in this book. I enjoyed it thoroughly. The characters are well fleshed and the plot was finely crafted.
