About the authors
Chris Maden has lived and sometimes even worked in Hong Kong since 1987. He loves high lonely places and the deep blue ocean; he has travelled through much of South, East and South-East Asia, and done furloughs in the Middle-East and North Africa, all of which he brings to his writing. He writes for the Hong Kong Free Press and Hong Kong Review of Books, and is chairman of Hong Kong Writers' Circle. He has published a few short stories, and is working on a couple of novels.
The Hong Kong Writers Circle is a member organisation for writers of all levels and of all genres. Founded in 1991, we are devoted to creating an environment in which writers develop their writing skills and knowledge of the publishing industry with the support of their peers. The HKWC provides its members with opportunities to further their craft, to meet and network with industry professionals, to receive feedback on their work and take part in workshops, socials and our annual anthology.
For over twenty-five years, the HKWC has been a stalwart of Hong Kong's literary scene. We encourage writers across all genres to join our community, including short fiction writers and novelists, non-fiction writers and journalists, playwrights, screenwriters, filmmakers, poets and bloggers. Our members come from all corners of the globe and range from the published professional to the aspiring amateur.

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
