I have been using these for YEARS! We move a lot. And I reuse all of my plastic hooks in each place. The hooks last for years and the stickies have lasted years for me as well. I've never had any problems of these strips falling off of walls, doors, mirrors, outside shower doors, cupboards, wood fireplace surrounds, windows, metallic surfaces. I'm also careful to stay well within weight restrictions. In some places, I've used the same mounted hook for 3 or 4 years, and when it's time to move, I pull the tab, and the hook comes off. Be aware, the tabs have to be pulled more slowly, the longer they've been mounted to the surface. Otherwise the tabs will rip. There is no damage to the walls, but it's much harder to remove the hook when the mounting strip has been torn crosswise because there is nothing left to pull the remainder of the strip stuck between the wall and the hook. I've used pliers (not the nose head type, the surface area is too small to pull the strip properly) to pull the strips off at the other end if part of the strip is exposed. But, the slower you pull, the less likely of any tearing. I only find this happens when the strips have been hanging a very long time (i.e. years).
These are perfect for hanging those little things that you can't use a nail for. I use the mounting strips and hooks especially in my kitchen on the inside of my kitchen cupboards to hang my small potholders, my trivets, cleaning brushes and small towels. I've used the strips to attach clothes pins to the wall to hold up my kids' art. (To attach clothes pins, I'll cut the medium refill strip lengthwise in half so that the sticky part shows only minimally). I've used these to hang lightweight woodwork, Christmas decorations, paper/posters directly to the walls without using the hooks - I use only the strips. They are so useful!
