Very happy with this product. I used them to hang wooden letters of various sized on my grandsons wall. The letters were not heavy, possibly up to 2 pounds. I cut some of the strips into sizes I needed, others were used as is. My hope was to avoid using nails so the letters could be flush with the wall. Works great! Arrived quickly. I would absolutely use these again!

less than 24 hours and it failed

I thought the people that left one star did it wrong. I cleaned the wall and my frame applied the strip and pressed hard on the wall. I checked the next morning and it was still up but to make sure I pressed hard again but by that evening it fell and broke my frame. It says it olds 12 pounds but this frame is just over a pound and it still couldn't hold it up. I guess you can't reinvent the nail.

Command Strips Good Replacement for Nails to Hang Pictures

Great product! I have used these hanging strips to hang several pictures around my house and they are strong enough to hold up a good sized 11x17 sized picture in a frame. I have also had to remove these from painted walls and pulled straight down as the directions state, and never had an issue with it pulling paint off the wall or leaving residue behind. The only thing that sometimes happens is that the stretchy backing snaps while I'm pulling it down and will come off in a piece, and then I have to get a grip on the rest and pull that straight down too. Not a huge deal, though. The other thing I like is that you can compensate for a slightly crooked picture by pulling the picture back off the wall (with the backing still stuck to the wall and reposition a little, and then stick the grippies back together. Even if the grippies are stuck back together a little off center from each other, I haven't found that it affects the product's ability to hold the frame, and I've never had anything fall down. These are my go-to products now and I haven't had to hammer in a nail to hang a picture in a few years now.

Really handy and can be used for multiple purposes

I use these strips for everything--literally everything. I've hung up about 3 light pictures using only two each and that's worked fine. I've also hung up a large 2'x4' corkboard using two packs of these and it hasn't budged an inch. If you follow the instructions, these strips hold up incredibly well. Use rubbing alcohol to wipe down the frame and the wall. Let it dry before you try adhering the strips. Push it down hard and hold it for a good couple of minutes and you should be good to go!

We have a simplehuman Wall Mount Grocery Bag Dispenser, Stainless Steel that I adhere to the inside of the cabinet door below our sink. The adhesive tape on the dispenser is sooo weak though and it kept falling off and giving me a scare. I ended up ripping off the adhesive tape of the grocery bag dispenser and replacing it with two of the command strips. It never falls off anymore!

The only thing is that these strips are fairly wide, so sometimes when I have thinner frames they are wider than the frame. It hasn't caused an issue though even though the entire strip isn't adhering to a solid back. I'm so thankful for these strips, they really do have multiple uses.

Used with Command hook for added versatility

We have been using a lot of Command products in our home decorating lately. We first discovered these when I noticed how straight the picture frames were in my sister-in-law's gallery wall. They hung all of the frames with Command picture hanging strips. Our crooked frames were already hung with nails, so we used Command Stabilizer Strips to keep them straight - they work great!

Once the stabilizer strips were taken care of, there were some other items to hang on our walls. We used the Picture Hanging Strips to hang wooden letters, a foamcore posterboard, and 11x14 canvases.

The canvases are not the kind with a wood frame on the back, but the canvas is wrapped around something thin. They are maybe 3/8" thick. My son has painted several of these at painting parties. It would probably be best to use two strips with them, in the top two corners, but we just used one in the center near the top. They are fairly lightweight and so far it has been fine.

The reason we just used one in the center was because we wanted to hang then on our kids' doors part of the time, but we already had a Command hook there for holiday decorations. I ended up removing the hooks and putting a Picture-hanging strip on the back of the Command hook like it would go on the back of a picture. Then a Picture-hanging strip on the door. Now we can hang our Command hook on the door for lightweight holiday decorations (things like a Christmas stocking or felt jack-o-lantern). Or we can remove the hook and put my son's paintings up. It's great to have the versatility. We did have to trim the picture-hanging strip a bit to fit on the back of the hook, but that of course would depend on the size strip and hook you used. I also wouldn't stress the hook too much so we've only used lightweight decorations.

As far as using them the normal way, we have been pleased with them. If you don't get it quite straight, remove the picture and try again. We used a small level on top of our frames before pressing the strips together.

We had recently repainted our doors, so we made sure to wait a week before applying the strips. Also, don't forget to clean the surfaces with alcohol.
