Can I use Command General Purpose Hooks to hang jackets, backpacks, pursues and wreaths?

Yes. Follow all package instructions and check product details for weight capacity of each hook. For reference: a 16 oz bag of coffee weighs one pound, a standard 3 lb bag of apples weighs three pounds, and a standard bag of potatoes weighs five pounds.

Can all Command Indoor Hooks hold near a shower or will it hold a wet towel?

BEWARE!

I was excited to try these on my newly painted walls. They were super easy to put up and felt very secured. For a month anyway... Then this week two of them have come off the wall unexpectedly along with my expensive paintings! The first I was sitting near when it happened, so I know there was no other cause than that the adhesive just gave out. The second one 2- days later and I came home to painting face down on the floor. I have no idea why they've failed. The only thing I can think is the change in weather, but shouldn't they be secure enough for May to June in a house with A/C? Oh, and they damaged the paint when they pulled off too.

All I can say is BEWARE!!!

Ripped up my wall

I bought 1 pack of these command hooks because I liked the idea of reusing hooks and a way to minimize nail holes. I used them to hang shirts, towels etc, which btw none of them exceeded 5lbs, but within I’d say 2-3 days all of them had fallen and replaced them, I even tried cleaning the surface so they’d stick better, or let the glue set before placing any items on it, to no avail they would continue falling. But there was one set that I have not changed since day one, until today as shown in the picture it fell off today and ripped a hole in my wall.

Very Strong When Applied Correctly

We love these things and have them installed all over the house. They hold up well, are easy to install, and carry a great deal of weight. If you are applying it to regular interior latex painted drywall, try this technique:

1) Wash your hands with soap and water.
2) Clean the wall area of any debris, and wipe with 91% rubbing alcohol. If you have heavy texturing, try to make it flat first.
3) Clean the plastic wall clip part of the hook where the adhesion pad goes. Keep the two parts of the hook together. Do not put oily fingerprints on the back.
4) Apply the hook-side adhesion layer to the hook, aligning the tab to point down toward the floor. Be careful to line it up to take up the full pad area with the adhesive strip.
5) Apply the hook to the wall, carefully lining up the hooks exactly as you'd like.
6) Carefully remove the hook from the wall clip (pull gently up from the hook side). This will expose the plastic wall clip that sticks to the wall.
7) Press FIRMLY on the clip, against the wall, for 20-30 seconds. Try to remove any air bubbles.

Doing this will give you a very strong bond to the wall. To remove, take off the hook part (pull up), then pull down on the tab slowly. The pad will come right off the wall.

One note, be very careful when removing the hook from the wall clip. I pushed a little too hard and cut my finger from the sharp plastic on the wall clip. I don't think that's a product flaw at all. That was all me being clumsy. Just be careful.

Large hooks did not hold up to 15 lb capable weight holding in description

Directions state to leave posted for one hour before use.

I left posted for around 18 or so hours before use.

Posted 4 hooks to hold a 9 foot long strand of garland with a lot of old vintage glass ornaments hanging on the garland as well.

I purchased the large hooks that claim to hold 15 pounds each.

When I woke this morning, a hook on the end had given out, and one of my vintage glass ornaments fell to the ground and shattered. 😫

This garland is not 60 pounds, so the weight these size hooks claim to hold is inaccurate.

If anymore give out, I’ll update again.

For the price of the item, and the fact that it does not damage walls, I would buy it again. Only to use for non-breakable objects.

Would not recommend for breakable or “dear to your heart” objects/items.

Okay but Disappointing

I see quite a few of you use these for picture hanging. I found out the hard way -- via broken glass and gouged floor! -- that the company does NOT recommend them for use this way. Even though there is NO warning about this on the website and you think you can hang pictures. Customer service told me there is teeny tiny print on the package saying not to use them to hang pictures. VERY inconvenient in my opinion. Why not state this up front?? I had a disaster on my hands when a picture fell crashing to the floor in the middle of the night! The way the hook is on the wall, the picture hangs with the bottom against the wall and the top slightly outboard. They said it places stress on the adhesive and eventually will pull away from the wall. Save yourself some heartache and use something else for pictures in frames!

Command Hooks Stick Well with Ease

I bought these Command hooks for a storage idea. I needed hooks for my kiddos multiple coats and to help hold bins in place to hold their hats and gloves. Being a small house I just couldn't find anything that would work. I ran to the local store and bought off brand hooks that, from what I remember, should have stuck like I had used super glue to hang them. Unfortunately they detached within the first 24 hours.

Amazon had the best price for a larger amount of Command hooks that hold up to 5 pounds. I ordered 2 packages and installed them as soon as they came. I had enough for my boys coats/hats/gloves storage on the back of their bedroom door plus extra for a towel hook next to the shower (steamy showers and it still hasn't fallen), a robe hook on the back of the bathroom door (still sticking), and a few extra places to hold heavier adult hoodies/coats. They are still hanging after a couple of days, and honestly I don't think they will unstick until I pull that tab. Perfect purchase for all the things you may need to hang.

Holes in the wall

I bought these to hang stockings on the wall for Christmas. They were originally on the wall for less than a month and as my husband went to pull them off, it pulled the paint off of our wall (right in photo). I was not happy needless to say and proceeded to hide the ugly and use the other two hooks on the wall. Today (7 months later) I looked up online how to get them off the wall and proceeded to try to do so and there is an even larger issue (bottom and left). I've ordered these hooks before and they are excellent for hanging a robe or longer items in the closet. However, I received 6 hooks instead of the 7 advertised. Contacting customer service was a complete waste of time. I hoped they would send a replacement, but all they offered was a $4 credit. I decided to return the entire package and re-order them since I needed all 7 hooks. This meant an unnecessary trip to the post office. As a long-time Amazon customer, I found customer service less than satisfactory.

Magic removal process!!

I can't believe how excited I am to review these hooks! Removing them by pulling on the little tab and stretching it slowly until the hook just pops off is magic to me! I was able to remove two hooks from my doors with zero trace, even though the paint really looked like it would come off.

One of the hooks broke after I overloaded it with, like, 3 coats, so that's sort of my fault, but removing the broken hook and replacing it was a breeze!

Fakes from China ! Amazon needs to Do Better

These are not authentic Command Hooks . Fakes from China. The hooks were sealed in a bag separate from the cardboard card included from Command Strips obviously from an original set or copied . The strip for the wall side had different printing and had Chinese symbols on it , not the same as original hooks I already had . The adhesive was not strong or even sticky and the hooks fell off the wall within 24 hrs . Total waste of money .

I do wish the manufacturer will make some prettier hooks... I mean these are OK looking but if I ever wanted to put hooks up on the entry way wall I wouldn't use these... They are just plain white plastic hooks!
