I have always enjoyed what I believed was our 'history', but then to have seen what has been kept from, or hidden from us, or overlooked by people who were supposed to share knowledge is astounding. It's like a whole different world than the one I learned about in school. The teachers 'taught' names and dates that could be counted on a test. JHP has brought history alive.

Have you ever read a book and thought you were with the author every step of the way, throughout the whole book? if you haven't then this is the book for you. Throughout the book you feel as if you're there with him.
This book is loaded with fantastic information.For the individual just starting out, that might not know how to get his foot in the door looking for treasure, this book gives you a lot of very insightful information. If your using a metal detector, there is a list of helpful metal detector manufacturers, an a list of different types of metal detectors that are useful in different types of situations.There is also a section with GPS coordinates of towns where still may be lost treasures to be found. Whether you're looking for treasure or just want to read about it, I highly recommend any of Commanders books, because when you are done reading you will walk away with a lot more knowledge. if you have any questions about this book before you buy it, please feel free to contact me because I highly recommend it. brianhayden228@gmail.com

Have you ever watched the Diggers show on the Discovery featuring two guys using metal detectors to search for valuable stuff buried underground? I am a big fan of this show, it brings history to life. I have never thought of doing the same, but after reading this book, I started to think I may give it a try.

This book is basically a complete guide to discovering hidden treasure in ghost towns. It tells you what can be found of value in ghost towns, how to discover these items using tools like a metal detector and how to handle the items you found. Very much details are given in this book, it even has a list of top 25 US coins to search for!

I really like the idea of this book. It connects history with treasure hunting, linking the boring with the exciting. It promotes the research of history and makes history education fun. The best of all, you may even get rich following the instructions in this book, just follow the long list of ghost towns with exact GPS coordinates provided in this book!

This book is full of great information.For the beginner,that might not know how to get started looking for treasures,this book gives you a lot of useful information.Like if your going to use a metal detector,you get a list of detector manufacturers,and which type of detector you may need for different situations.I found that very useful info.There is also a section with GPS coords for towns that used to be located next to mining communities and old factories,where still may be lost treasures to be found.I live in the state of Georgia,and saw GPS coords for places that I have actually been to myself,and found things.If your looking to be a part time or full time treasure hunter,{ANY} of Commanders books are there for you.

Hutton has done a fantastic job on putting this together ! This is a very informative book on several aspects of ghost towns .I would highly recommend this book to the novice hunter or the seasoned hunter as well . I give it five stars .
