This story was right mix of hot and romantic. Iason is the type of guy any woman would fall for! Michelle was created a wonderful under water world. This story has some great twists and surprises along with a queen you will love to hate lol. I sooooo can't wait to read the next book in this series wow. enthralling from start to finish.
Cassandra Nevin is dying. She is terminally ill and chooses to spend the last remaining days living on a boat with a bunch of scientists. When there ship is attacked sending her into the abyss, she accepts the inevitability that death was coming anyway and simply waits for her turn.
Iason the Hunter sees the women drowning and does not understand why the women is preventing him from saving her. She is the only one he is able to rescue and breathes life into her while taking her to their city. After bringing her to a healer, he finds out that she is ill and the only way to save her would be to heal her with his powers. However, healing her in that way would mean disgrace and banishment from the ocean. But he cannot simply allow her to die when she has already captured a part of his heart. He agrees to take her to his cottage and heal her without anyone knowing the wiser.
I had a better feel of both characters in this book than in the first which I thoroughly enjoyed. Cassandra knows she is dying, but what she doesn’t know is Iason is healing her. Believing she is simply having a few “good days” she is bold, daring and falls hard for Iason. She knows the end will come but she wants to enjoy what little time she has and so long as her doesn’t fall for her, it won’t be a terrible end.
Iason, unlike Caderyn, had much more depth and feelings. I could easily tell he cared for Cassandra and it was truly touching the way he cared for her and broke all the rules just to help her.
A fun, touching tale, that I definitely enjoyed reading.
Iason knows that saving her could cost him his honored position and more--but he cannot resist or refuse her anything. This is a tale of fate bringing together two who cannot fight the pull between them, however she tells herself she will not allow them to feel more.
You will love the sacrifice he has to make to help her heal. But all is not easy for them. She is in danger from another source all but forgotten. When danger closes in with he be able to save her or be too late?
I loved both of them and was on their side from the beginning. We get to visit the couple we met in the first book in the series and see how they are faring. Like all of Michelle Pillows book, it's a keeper, steamy and has memorable players.
