This is an astoundingly intensive work. It's overwhelming; I can only comprehend the smallest part, illuminated by my own miniscule experience.
When I was a young man, I enrolled in a theological seminary, and enrolled in first-year koine Greek. I was tasked, at one point, with translating an obscure passage from the New Testament, and was driven near to distraction. And that was of a small selection of a view verses, which had multiple commentaries and documents available in English for me to reference.
Here we have a translation from the Latin, which I believe to be much more obscure than koine Greek; and it's a translation of a commentary, not the scripture. Therefore, all of the research and parsing is something the translator has had to generate, not guided by the work of centuries of scholars.
I cannot speak to the accuracy of the translation, nor to the application of the work to non-scholars. I simply don't have the credentials nor expertise to do so. However, I DO have a small sense of what an overwhelming task this must have been, requiring years of preparation and a devotion to task.
