I am a huge fan of this series. I originally reviewed the first in this series for my website but after talking with the author (who is amazing and so incredibly sweet), I received this one to review as well. And I could not have loved it more. I loved the first one, but I think this might be my favorite of the two. Can this story keep going forever please?
The Commitment Test picks up about a year after The Man Test left off - with Marin still trying to prove points and get what she wants in the most comical and endearing of ways. Although her tactics are questionable, you can't help but love her and feel like you're really having fun right there alongside of her. So when Marin decides that she's ready to get engaged, she's willing to do whatever it takes to get her boyfriend to finally pop the question.
Even if you're not usually a fan of chick-lit, I really cannot recommend this series enough. They are easily books that I would recommend to any of my girlfriends and then sit back and decide who is most similar to which character. Do yourself a favor and start on them ASAP!
I don't want to go too much into the plot because I don't believe that a review should be a plot recap. There are still many cute and lighthearted moments in the book. I absolutely loved the character of Telly and feel like she is the most interesting character in the book. Maybe because she is strong and independent and those are the characters that I prefer. It appears that all the other characters from The Man Test have grown and have really interesting situations in this book. The only character that really lacks growth is Marin. I like the book. I would recommend it to someone who doesn't mind a true chick lit book that wraps up nice and neatly. It is probably comparable to a slightly cheesy WE TV, Lifetime or ABC Family show. Predictable but feel good, a guilty pleasure.
