In the book, Boberski helpfully contextualizes the key value drivers of community banks and summarizes the important strategies for the wholesale side of the bank.
Three chapters were especially insightful, and alone worth the price of the book: Managing the Balance Sheet Through Different Interest-Rate Cycles, Investments and the Wholesale Balance Sheet, and Derivatives as a Way to Manage Balance Sheet, Earnings and Business Risk.
I highly recommend this book to any community bank Board, CEO, CFO or Treasurer as a guidebook to using effective, sophisticated tools to offer superior services to his/her clients and to successfully compete against the largest of banks.
