If you're serious about passing this test, I highly encourage you to read the book at least twice, AND also go to the Cisco Skills For All website and take their *FREE* Network Technician 70 hour course. The course will probably take you anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks to complete, and you'll also have the aid of using the Cisco Packet Tracer program. Once again, that course is FREE.
You see, the Network Technician course, when used with the Packet Tracer program, will give you a much deeper experience that is about as close to hands-on as you can get without having physical access to the real hardware. You'll actually have to program some things from the command line, and you'll be building and setting up simulated networks with the Packet Tracer learning activities.
Actually spending the time to DO the activities and complete the course will immensely improve your chances of passing the Network+ exam.
Definitely get this book, because it's great, but don't rely on this book to teach you everything. Pair it up with the free Cisco learning program and you'll do much better on the Network+ exam.
At the time I took the exam, it costed about $321 USD. Most people cannot afford to fail that test.
Mike Meyers' book is long. It's as much a networking reference manual as a preparation guide for the Network+ exam. Initially I thought the Meyers book was overkill. After reading the first 4 chapters of this Mike Meyers book and being frustrated at my progress, I returned the book. In retrospect, that was a mistake.
There were two stages in my preparation for the exam: (1)understanding the material (2)memorizing information.
The two best sources I found for understanding the exam subject matter are: (1) Mike Meyers book (2) Professor Messer's video training that is free online.
Unfortunately, I relied mostly upon video training for understanding the information. And it takes a long time to get through a full video training course for Network+. If you recall information visually, as I do, then you should consider relying upon a book for understanding the subject matter. Use the video training and a secondary resource. And you should learn the material faster than using only video.
For memorizing information, I listened to multiple training video courses (Jason Dion Udemy course, Professor Messer), reviewed the study guides Dion and Messer provide, took practice exams, reviewed the Exam Cram book, and created Anki cards.
If I were to do the memorization all over again, I would rely much more heavily on Jason Dion's Practice Exams course on Udemy. He provides detailed explanations of the correct answer to each question.
Take all the practice exams you can. If you don't understand a subject, look it up in Meyers' book.
Good luck in your studies.

Edit: The book's pretty solid in explaining what you'd need to know. However, some images/pages should've been printed in colour as it makes no sense to follow the caption if it's explaining about colours but everything's B/W.
