It worked pretty well but the snaps felt cheap. After a week of use the clip snapped in half. Not at the gate and spring, but in the C of the hook. Not very durable. So beware! Do leave your pet tied off using one this product, even for just a moment.
I still love this lead and it is the only lead I use now with my service dog in training. What I would love, though, is a loop to put the lead cross ways on me and have my dog at good heel position. You can put it around your waist but not cross ways as it is a bit tighter on me then it should be and gives my dog a bit more lead then he should have. If there was another loop to clip to that would be amazing. So that is the only thing that I would love. But it is still our only lead and allows for multi-functional ways of leading a dog. We started with a head collar one end on the head collar and other end of his collar on his neck and now we are on the single collar clip. So it sort of grows with your dog as you train. I would still recommend this lead to anyone; training or not.
I love this training lead! It's much better quality and thicker then I thought it would be. The handle part (adjust it to be a handle at the end) is a bit bigger then most leads with a handle but thats ok as I can just undo it and it goes out longer for training. I'll probably will look for one longer for other training but this one is very nice!
*I’ve actually seen this with stainless steel (SS) hardware like bolt snaps before. While the bolt snaps and double-enders at Lowe’s/Home Depot are much cheaper than the equivalent product at a marine store, the cost difference is well worth it, SS hardware from the marine store lasts forever; SS hardware from Lowes and HD last only weeks. The bolt snaps on this leash are Lowe’s/HD quality.

Initially, the biggest reason I chose this was price. It was pretty cheap in comparison to similar leads of its kind. I liked that there was the option to have several different lengths and that I could clip it to both his normal collar and his halti collar. I was super excited to use this, and as soon as it arrived, I arranged to take the dog out. I was a little worried the first few times he really pulled on the lead, but that worry vanished when the lead repeatedly stood up to him pulling in the direction of squirrels. The stitching seems to be very strong and held up well against the strength of the dog. The clips also seem strong. I attach the larger of the two to his halti collar and the smaller to the lead itself to create a handle when I want a longer lead. They're easy to use and can be released quickly to change the length which I do regularly when we walk through woodland. The material is really nice to hold, very soft, and it doesn't cut into my hands, no matter how hard the dog pulls. Huge plus for me, no more sore hands! It's also super easy to wipe down after getting muddy which is a nice bonus.
This is my absolute favourite lead to use. I love this lead so much I brought a second one so I never have to be without it. I keep one in the car, one in the house. I have also, for added length, connected the two together, which was great for training as it meant I could get further way from the dog without ever losing control. I'm considering connecting the two next time we head on a woodland walk as I can then safely work on improving recall. I wish I had found this lead earlier, it has made so much difference to the walking experience. I have already recommended it to a few friends and will continue to recommend it to anyone who asks me.
Packaging and Postage: The packaging and postage was with Prime, so nothing really more to mention - fast as always and well wrapped and protected. In terms of the actual lead, the packaging is the commercial cover, which unfolds to give a neat little synopsis of the lead, its advantages and uses. More on that later...
First Impressions: Really nice. Solid, thick and comfortable. The stitching is strong, the leash is fairly soft and the D rings are secure. Put simply, this is a quality product, not some cheap natty nylon cord.
Design: So as I said, the cover goes through the different uses, and shows 8 layouts/methods of using the lead - from doubled, to two dogs, to round your waist for running. We have used it on precisely *ahem* 1 setting, as a lead. Don't get me wrong, for other training - Im sure its great - but for what I want to do (walk my dog - simple as that) that's all we need. Also, since getting it, you pay more attention to what people use. It is used a lot - on a wide range of Dogs. Take that as you want, but a lead isn't something you generally buy to fit in - you buy what is best for you.
Use: Its a lead - there isn't that much to say. However, in the interests of covering everything - there are two clips. Both are strong and easy to clip on and off. You can make a handle with the clip at one end (as per the picture). It *is* soft for a lead.
Longevity: We have a smallish Labrador pup, that is getting bigger by the day. As of yet, she isn't pulling me over...but the lead has had a fair few...stress tests. It has also been thoroughly soaked, chewed a bit and generally used as you would expect. No stitching has come undone, in fact no marks or signs of wear at all - and that's after about 6 weeks. It won't last forever, but I go back to my initial assessment. This is a quality lead.
Overall: Offers lots of options (if that's your thing), easy to use and will last. And its cheap!
They're strong, and it's great being able to change their lengths. The fabric they're made from is lovely and soft, too.
My (large) dog is very reactive, and very strong, so I need good quality leads that I know won't snap.
I think they're also a very good price.
I use mine in conjuction with a Halti harness, and my dog and I are very happy with them.
We've only recently started using a halti with our 1 year old golden retriever and our existing lead's clasp was too heavy, pulling on the halti and making him resist more. We'd get moments where he'd sit down and refuse to budge. Pulling him forwards wearing a halti felt cruel and risked it slipping off.
With this lead the varied clasp size means the smaller one can be clipped to the halti and doesn't pull down. Clipping the other clasp to his collar gets round the pulling him forwards issue. He's much happier trotting along beside us and we feel like we have the control that we were planning before.
As a normal lead without the halti is also great. It gives brilliant flexibility as you've got a choice of several lengths. It's comfortable to use, being slightly padded. It's also nice and light despite being the wider version.
We're big fans! And considering it's no more expensive (and in many cases cheaper) than a standard lead, it's a bit of a no brainer.
Be a short, middle or long length lead.
Have dual attachments to both a harness and a collar.
Soft, fabric grip in the ‘rein’ like lead that doesn’t cut or dig into your hands if the dog pulls.
Very smooth clip for fast connecting/disconnecting.
Double clip also great for emergencies with free roaming/lost dogs! You never realise how useful that is until you’re stuck in the middle of seemingly nowhere without the option of temporarily securing a dog without its owner in sight.
Same as above, at a push the rings on the lead allow for making a makeshift loop to slip over yours or lost dogs without a collar.
Extremely tough wearing, thick material that is not showing signs of wear and tear like our other leads, even with the odd chewing.
Owner convenience for dogs that go off lead in open areas - you can loop it over your body for hands free carrying.
Basically I’ve nothing I could say that would be anything but positive for this product. It’ll be a must have for as long as we have dogs.
