Got batteries in. Closed, latched, screwed shut. Found power switch, turned on. Pushed stick on remote: car moved forward 2 inches, began to transform, and immediately stopped...and that was it. No amount of new batteries, squeezing, flexing, throwing, bouncing, stepping on, or yelling at will make this stupid toy work again.
There's a reason they sell this thing at a drug store: it is absolute garbage: and good luck getting ahold of the manufacturer for support. I was able to track their parent company down, MerchSource, LLC - they were then able to provide me with Bluehat's phone number 8003742744. Good luck. Spent 10 minutes on hold before giving up: quite frankly, this cheap piece of trash isn't worth my time sitting on the phone.
All in all, as is fairly typical of these "off-name brand" toys, this is total and complete garbage. The most valuable part of the toy is the box it came in, as it can at least be used as a drink coaster or something by the flustered parents struggling to find the battery compartment. If it were possible to give negative stars, I would.
Let me amend that slightly: I would give it 1 star because the toy taught my son that when we say things like "You can't have that because it's total trash garbage", we're right.
I can hear the kids playing with it now so I gave it a slightly better review. If for some reason they really enjoy it, I'll upgrade our rating.
My 5 yr old has been playing with it since we got it working probably 15-20 min ago so overall it's not too bad, he's having fun with it. You can't expect too much for the price and this kind of remote anyways.
What's real funny is the remote for this toy is also working for another cheapy remote controlled car he got for Christmas so they're both going at the same time with one remote!
Thank you Dennis for taking the time to take pictures and upload them for us.
It's not a bad toy, it was just frustrating when we couldn't get the batteries in and working, we thought the toy was broke but it's fine now.
