Poetry and plays, shared one shelf at the bottom of the classicssection and the most recently written play available to buy was"Macbeth" by William Shakespeare.
I had found my specialty. Considering the closest competitiondied almost four hundred years ago. I knew plays had beenwritten, with many being performed every week in citiesaround the world. Except nobody it seemed was publishingthem.
I found it difficult to restrain myself. I wanted to give detailedinstructions on where the actors should stand, what lighting touse and what props to put on the walls.
Instead I cut it down to it's raw state so it reads more like ashort story. There are scene descriptions only to provide somesense of place for the reader. All images are my own, I usedthem to help portray the sense of awe, beauty and simplicitythat defines the incredible world around us, if we just stopoccasionally to notice it.
Compass is a beautifully simple tale about appreciating thesmall moments in life.
