Don't work in our Xerox 6500 Phaser

We have a Xerox Phaser 6500. Long and short of it is that these do not work in the printer. I took a chance on the non-manufacturer toner due to the good reviews and cheap price. We installed the black toner cartridge, it fit and seemed great. We maybe got 3 or 4 prints out of it and then we got a message about a full waste cartridge. I didn't think it had anything to do with the EPS toner. I went on a long journey of googling and solution seeking to no avail. As a last ditch effort, I bought a black Xerox toner cartridge and installed it. Voila! Printer up and going.

Turns out, the waste cartridge is part of the toner cartridge. For some reason, the EPS cartridges trigger this waste message and the printer simply will not print when this message is triggered. When we got the new Xerox brand cartridge, we did a side-by-side comparison and the EPS version is missing 2 small tabs on one end. Otherwise, the cartridges appear identical. The EPS cartridge didn't appear to have had these broken off in any way. And the tabs are thick enough that I think it would be difficult to have them break off cleanly. So... not sure why these seem to work for everyone but us, but that was our experience.

I have purchased many of these cartridges but thought I was noticing that they don't last long. They print fine in my Xerox 6505DN but I only get around 1,200 pages out of them. Not the 3,000 it says. I decided to do a test and bought four other brands of compatible and economical cartridges from Amazon. What I found out is that 3 of the other cartridges weighed 4.1oz when full of toner. These EPS cartridges weigh 3.5oz by comparison! An empty cartridge weighs 2.4oz so these EPS cartridges only have 1.1 oz of toner in them! The other three have 1.6oz of toner. That's a huge difference. However, that isn't the biggest difference. I purchased a cartridge from Caire, also on Amazon, and theirs weighed 4.6oz full. That means it contains 2.2oz of toner! That's twice the amount of these EPS cartridges! I will not buy these again and feel like I have been ripped off. STAY AWAY: Ruined TWO of my printers

Have a new Xerox 6500 Phaser needing replacement toner. Bought two EPS box sets (4 cartridges each). Installed the new toners and immediately had error codes, reseated the toners and now printing faded black and double score color. And, now the printer is damaged and according to Xerox warranty voided. I will be returning both EPS boxes to Amazon and as far as I am concerned DON'T BUY EPS products!
