Barbara (who died in 2018) is famous in Bichon Frise dog realm. She is instrumental in having the Bichon Frise beautiful white fluff dog recognized by the AKC and in formation of Bichon Frise Club of America and Bichon Frise Club of San Diego. As a prospective owner of my first show potential Bichon pup, my mentors, breeders and handlers recommended I read this Barbara Stubb's famous book, The Complete Bichon Frise. It includes history of the Bichon breed, breeders, Bichon Standard (what show judges base winners on), choosing a puppy, grooming, therapy dogs, what makes a top-producing Bichon offspring, celebrities Bichons,... Great book. It needs an updated version to be more current. But most of it is still pertinent. I, Leezette Lopatic, highly recommend it.

I was quite disappointed in this book. I was looking for information on a bichon as a pet when instead it was all about bichon bloodlines...quite boring.
