However, the 7th edition, published in 2009, contains major errors concerning the administration of George W. Bush. For Secretary of Agriculture, it mentions only that Mike Johanns was nominated in 2004. It fails to mention that he served from 2005-2007, and that he was succeeded by Ed Schafer, who served from from 2008-2009.
For Secretary of Commerce, it mentions that Carlos Gutierrez was nominated in 2004, but fails to mention that he served from 2005-2009.
For Secretary of Housing & Urban Development, it mentions that Alphonso Jackson served from 2004-2009. However, that is incorrect. Mr. Jackson left in 2008, and was succeeded by Steve Preston, who served from from 2008-2009.
For Secretary of Transportation, the book inaccurately states that Norman Pineta was the Secretary from 2001-2009. In fact, he left in 2006, and was succeeded by Mary Peters, who served from 2006-2009.
For Secretary of Energy, it states that Samuel Bodman was nominated in 2004, but fails to mention that he served from 2005-2009.
For Secretary of Education, it states that Margaret Spellings was nominated in 2004, but fails to mention that she served from 2005-2009.
Finally, for Secretary of Veterans Affairs, it inaccurately states that Jim Nicholson was Secretary from 2005-2009.Read more ›
It is sad when a once great book deteriorates. Get the first couple of editions and forget this one.
