Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere, but it did embed TV story structure in her head well enough for her to take a big risk on a TV series structured erotic series called Songs of Submission. It's about a kinky billionaire hung up on his ex-wife, an ingenue singer with a wisecracking mouth; art, music and sin in the city of Los Angeles.
Critics have dubbed the books "poetic," "literary," and "hauntingly atmospheric," which is flattering enough for her to put it in a bio, but embarrassing enough for her not to tell her husband, or he might think she's some sort of braggart who's too good to give the toilets a once-over every couple of weeks or chop a cord of wood.
If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

Spin: CD Reiss had me addicted with her Songs of Submission series. So of course I read Spin. She is a go-to author for me and I was not disappointed. Spin is the first book in the Songs of Corruption series. Antonio "Spin" Spinelli is a mafia Capo and Theresa Drazen is an heiress. She sees him and is immediately enamored. "I got a flash of him above me, with that swoop of hair rocking, as he f***ed me so hard the sheets ripped". And it just keeps getting better from there. The sex scenes are amazing. But the relationship grows and becomes something real. And the mob world is fascinating. Loved it.
Ruin: Ruin is the second book in the Songs of Corruption Series, following Spin. Antonio is a mobster, Theresa is an heiress. Yet they are in love and it's true love. I was caught up in the mob world and it was fascinating. Theresa is an American and doesn't play by mob rules. I love her. So many times I read books and dislike the weak women who whine and manipulate to get what they want. She doesn't need to do that. "My place? It's next to you". "It's under me". The sex is hot, the writing is strong, and I was up until the wee hours of the morning to finish it. What more could you ask for?
Rule: Rule is the third and final book in the Corruption Series and completes Antonio and Theresa's story. This is one of my favorite books ever. This book grips you and doesn't let go. I had to stop and take a break near the end because my heart was accelerating along with the pace of the book. I did not know who would live and who would die, I just wanted them to live together or die together. In the end, I was sobbing. Were they happy tears or sad tears...you'll have to read to find out. This will be one of my most cherished books and favorite series ever. Perfetto finale
"I want you, and I'm going to have you. That's it."
I was in the mood for a mafia romance and decided to give the Corruption series a try. I am glad I did because it hooked me right away. I love the story so much and the characters are imperfectly perfect in this book. It did take me a chapter or two to get use to the writing style in this book but after that I didn't have any problems. The author has created a very interesting story that has a very great flow. There was no dull moment in this book and it fit perfectly together.
"Amore mio, I'll break you with my love and put you back together."
I adore both main characters Theresa and Antonio. Both of them are so different but do have characteristics that match. I enjoyed how their relationship developed and I just couldn't get enough. I LOVE Antonio, he is such an alpha male and is rough and very protective. He is just my type of guy. Theresa is a very strong female and I love that she is in her mid 30s and ACTS her age. I had enough of immature TSTL characters that annoy me. Theresa is the exact opposite she is independent, knows what she wants and goes after it. She is pretty awesome! Theresa and Antonio are perfect for each other.
"God help me, every time I walk away from you, I only see hell in front of me."
There was a moment where Antonio pushes Theresa back to protect himself and her but she doesn't agree with his decision and goes after her man. I loved that she did that. It really shows that she has self confidence. It was very refreshing to read a female character act like that. I have very high hopes for the rest of the series.
Review of Ruin & Rule:
"This possession wasn't the stuff of operas and art. It was made of bone marrow and earth. Roots and reality."
Normally I stay away from trilogies but I am so happy I gave this one a try, because every book held my attention from the beginning to end. Many times when I try to read a trilogy or a series with 3 or more books I get bored real quick. The reason it didn't happen with this series was because of the consistently great plot and very strong characters. The combination of the plot and characters made one awesome story. I wouldn't even mind another book or two for this series.
"Capo, there will never be another. I'm ruined."
Antonio and Theresa are still in one crazy rollercoaster and don't really know how to get out of it. But they stick together and have each other's backs. Especially Theresa was a Ride-or-Die classy lady. I loved her so much, I want to grow up and be like her. The unconditional love she has for her Capo was phenomenal. Antonio tries to protect her, pushes her away and tries to trick her but Theresa is smarter than that. I loved all the action, romance, and SUPER HOT SEX! I also loved all the other characters including Theresa's brothers and sisters. I hope they get their own story. I know Jonathan is the main character in the Submission series so I will definitely add that series to my TBR list.
