This book is a must have for anyone who has children or takes medications themselves. Complete Guide tells you all you need to know about the medications you take. I buy a new Guide about every two years because there are so many new drugs that come on the market and they find out more about the interactions between prescription and non-prescription drugs, so it's in your best interest to know about all of the medicines you or someone in your family takes. I am an older American who takes several medications and couldn"t figure out why I was having dizzy spells all the time. My problem was that almost every med I was taking had a side effect of dizziness so I spoke to my doctor. She changed some of my medications and the meds she couldn't change we found that if I take them at a different time of day the side effects aren't so debilitating.

This might be a great book, but not in its current Kindle format. All the "header" (drug name) information is missing. That is, if you're looking for the generic "Naratriptan", the Kindle version never SHOWS the word Naratriptan, only the section information that immediately starts after it (Brand names like Amerge or whatever). And because each following and preceding drug does not start on its own page, you can't really tell where the break is between drug write-ups, so you start paging through one drug and then the next thing you know all the information is about the following drug, there is no clear differentiation between each drug's write-up.

This reference book is terrific if you frequently take prescription medications. It has an alphabetical drug listing in the back (both brand name and generic). Each drug listing tells what the brand name and generic name of the medicine is, what its used for, how to take it (dosage information), side effects, overdose information, warnings and precautions such as usage in children or the elderly, and interactions. Each drug listing is two pages of information that you need to know before you take medications. Very informative and easy to use reference guide. Also very helpful if you're on multiple medications or if you are wanting to change medications. With the way medications are constantly changing (new ones to market and old ones no longer in use), its a handy reference to have.

This is a great book, with many relevant facts about the most prescribed drugs, easy to follow, well organized. Gives all brand names with the generic name.
Most useful when studying Top 200 drugs for Pharmacy Technician course. Would also be great as a home reference guide to prescribed drugs.

This is not the first Winter Griffith, Prescription & Nonprescription Drug Book, I've ordered.
Have had 3 previous books. One of the best on the market.
You might have the Internet to look medicines up, but a book is always nice to have on hand.
Highly recommend this reference book.
Just replaced a 2007 edition. Now have caught up on a number of new medicines & thier side effects.

The book was delivered promptly and in good condition. The drugs are listed by classes and do not have specific information for each of the drugs in the class like pill size, dosage and other information for that specific drug. It's helpful for general information on the class the drug is listed in. I have an older book from a different publisher that has all of the specific information of each drug both brand name and generic and that is what I was hoping to get with this book.

I had hoped to find a current version to "The Essential Guide To Prescription Drugs, 2004". This book was a total disappointment. No drug applications, dosing reccomendation, appropriate use, interactions, etc. After getting this, I purchased the 2006 edition of the Essential Guide. A much better choice!
