I have no art history. This book is easy to follow. I had only reading and practices for three days and I was making good human features.

I really recommend practicing cylinders and circles, and just going over the basic. Do not move on until you are confident.

After only 3 days I started to recognize basic structure of animals. Something i would of never of guessed with out the the book.

this book is great too because it teaches you how to illustrate and create your own style.

This book is a good motivation too. I recommend this book to people that have passion for telling story. I also recommend it to start a new hobby. This book is great for beginners.

As a I did a week long study of Manga and Anime drawing with my kids, this book allowed me to understand everything I needed to hob-nob with my 3-5th graders, and take them somewhere they really wanted to go! We used the book to parallel literature, and draw, draw, draw! The art teacher, especially, was blown away with what the kids produced. I had purchased four Amazon books, and all were outstanding for different portions of the unit. Kids drew independently all summer and brought me volumes of practice when we were back in session in September. Way to go, Amazon! (And all this at half the price!)

For a basic artist who quit drawing for several years because of a life changing injury, this book turned out to be the 'boot' I needed to kick me back into drawing. I've been fascinated by the Japanese art of Manga and this (among others) has taught me the techniques needed for this art form. A great book as most of the 'COMPLETE IDIOT'S GUIDE TO.." series are.

I bought this book for my nephew. He had borrowed it from a teacher and was so enthralled in it and drawing. I gave him the opportunity to select one for his birthday and he chose two. He loves them? He really has become a great artist using this product.

This book shows you how to draw manga step by step. Includes colored illustrations, shows different faces and body stances to draw. Also includes a lot of info about different manga words and their meanings. The only thing I did not like was that the drawings were done in green ink, which is very hard to see.
