Call it piano or finger exercise, the impact and intent are the same: just need to focus on making the fingers, hand, wrist and whole body more nimble! The exercises are well explained and enjoyable! The contents also go into the scales and chords placements and hence throw in some music theory to learn. As a beginner, repetition and reinforcements are really important to progress. This is actually one of the best book out there to help with fingering, which is so important if you want to play well and smoothly, as well as interpreting the more complex pieces. So many piano playing friends support that these early on exercises will support pleasurable playing of advanced peices like jazz! So far, I am enjoying incorporating this book as part of my learning experience.

This is an excellent daily practice method for any level of player. All of the concepts are presented very clearly and concisely and each one is powerful and effective. The best way to get the most out of the entire book is to take ONE exercise only per day and play it in all 12 keys, 3 parent chord scales and 7 modal points as well as the accompanying harmony when you are up to that level. Every exercise is a rock-solid foundation and then from there you can expand upon it over the entire range of your instrument. Things that previously were difficult for me to play are now much easier and I would definitely say it is because of this book. 5 stars!

I spent a few years in childhood playing the piano, gave it up for the guitar. This should be called 'the natural way to learn piano' because it encourages direct connection to music, not only reading notes. The warm-up exercises are simple and, encouraged by the guide, I began to play them with my eyes closed. Direct relationship to the notes, and I began to find my way around the keys without looking at the notes. The major and minor keys are introduced with only the first five notes, and the student is directed to transpose a simple melody into all major and minor keys. This is just the BEST way to get back to piano playing, and compliments some other programs that focus on playing songs by ear from just the chord names.

It's a good book but the Kindle store should mention that the audio tracks are not part of the download.

I am a professional musician but not a pianist. Bought this book to learn about fingering technique and I find it's exactly what I wanted. But there are some pages with wrong notes. Page 39 m. 17, 21, 25 right hand notes should be 1 note lower. Page 60 ex. 13 m.2 4th note should be G not A. Page 71 m. 7 third chord should have an E sharp. Page 74 m. 8 LH note should be A. P. 75 m. 20 RH should not have G flatted. Beyond that I have not yet been.
