This book is good, it really is. I just wish it was more focused on Paganism in general. Most of this book is focused on Wicca and Wiccan principles, which would be fine if this was a book about Wicca. Not all pagan follow the Wiccan Rede or the Law of Three. Not all pagans believe in the duality of the Lord and Lady, some of us (myself included) are Hard Polytheist so we believe in MULTIPLE Lords and Ladies...I felt that paganism outside of Wicca just wasn't represented at ALL in this book, it made it out as if all pagans were Wiccan which just isn't true.

A brilliant guide to help you learn more about what will work for you going forward. A must read!

A fantastic book whether are you are just wanting to know the basics or discover a path that it appeals to you. It gives non-biased information about many different types of paganism and how it is practiced. An absolute must read prior to purchasing other pagan books! Since many other beginner books are written specifically for one path, this book will help you save time and money on purchasing books or tools that are not towards what you are truly interested in.
I instruct all my new students to read this book first to get a better understanding of the broad strokes regarding everything.

This book is AMAZING! Anybody thinking about paganism, or a long time practitioner will like this book. It covers gods goddesses wicca rituals, spells, spirit guides, karma. It is so comprehensive in a straightforward way. The chapter are short , simple, and to the point. I read some books on paganism and this is by far the best. Even if you have been practicing for a while, you get something from this book! First choice in any recommendation.

Carl McColman states in the beginning of this book that he is introducing the reader to Wicca, Druidry, and shamanism. He skillfilly delivers on his promise with a clear introduction to the most prominent forms of Paganism. This book would help in gaining direction into which path is for you.
It is not Pagan 101 or a spell book. If you are looking for a quick magical fix for a problem, you won't find it here. This book is for someone who knows absolutely nothing or very little about Paganism. For that reason, I think this would be a good book for a Pagan to give an open-minded friend or loved one who is concerned about their beliefs.
He introduces the beginner to concepts such as the wheel of the year, magic, and reincarnation. He has a friendly, easy-to-read writing style.
I rated it four stars instead of five because I felt the entire work was too heavily influenced by Wiccan belief such as the Rede and the God being the consort of the Goddess even when he wasn't specifically speaking of Wicca.

Excellent beginner's guide to paganism. It gives a very good overview of the many types of paganism and does it in a very humorous and approachable way. For anyone interested in this spirituality I would highly recommend it.

I'm almost certain that I selected the type of used book that was in the best condition possible (good as new or something like it)
Well, the pages are yellowish and the book itself smells weird. So, the condition was not as the one described in the box...but whatever I got it.

I have been reading up on Paganism for the last six months and was afraid I would either go backwards or "do over" with an "Idiots Guide" but this book was great.
Never boring, always informative and an easy read with but not overwhelming with information. Yes it did give out the same information at times, but also had
other information too, and I liked the layout of the book and how everything was
presented. I took my time and feel I more than got my money's worth. I would
suggest this book to anyone who is looking for information on Paganism.

This is a fantastic book for the beginner, or for the curious mind, wanting to know more. It covers a broad band of topics within Paganism, yet ties everything together in simple, practical terms. This would be an excellent book to present to skeptical family members, or friends when they want to support your path but don't quite know how.
