I hate spoilers, so I'm not giving you any.

Great title. No fill in artists, no crossovers and no overhype. A fun title with great, fun characters. The writing is crisp, as is the artwork. Good laughs. The hero is a complete non-starter, but the writer has a very clever way of explaining how he gets involved in these outlandish situations. It's comic book logic, but come on, it's a COMIC! The last arc of the book gives it a sense of closure while leaving it open. It's a Major Bummer there is only one volume of this.

The only real drawback of this book is that the references are very dated. Obviously, Y2K and Spice Girls haven't been relevant in some time.

Highly recommended.

Man, this is a fun book. I picked up random issues here and there but never had the complete series. Everyday slacker Lou Martin accidentally receives a package that changes his life forever. But not his outlook. Blessed with superhuman strength and nigh invulnerability, Lou just wants to be a professional couch potato. But this oddball adventure is filled with hilarious villains, ridiculous and insanely unconventional would be superheroes, impractical heroic tasks, time travel, the laziest could've been of all time and at its heart is nothing more than space alien science project.

This is an amazing book! I collected the series from way back when and was shocked to see it released in trade form but I scoped it up right away. The art is amazingly well done by Doug Mahnke, and the coloring is fantastic. The writing is witty and sharp and delivers the laughs. I highly recommend this gem to anyone who gets tired of the grim and gritty'iness of comics to give this a shot. You won't be disappointed.

I read this comic when it was still individual issues. I wasn't exactly a discerning reader at the time, so when I saw that a collected edition was finally available, it was purchased with a combination of nostalgia and dread.

Having finished reading it, I think that nostalgia + wincing was the appropriate response. I'm glad it's available, but I spent a good chunk of the re-read cringing at how ... not good it was.

Great collection of an offbeat title. Very funny. Like "Inferior Five" from the 60s, this is good satire and goofy characters. And, like "Inferior Five," didn't last nearly long enough!

I recently read the entire run of "Major Bummer" by John Arcudi with fantastic artwork by Doug Mahnke .
What a fun comic !
There are some laugh out loud moments involving two idiotic aliens and a super hero obsessed nerd. (Among other things )

If you enjoyed the 90's Keith Giffen version of "Justice League" you will probably enjoy this.

Highly Recommended !

GET THIS ITEM!!!!
i ignored it when it first came out, but realized it was one of the funnest, best drawn comics in the late 90s! it still feels timeless with sharp witted dialogue and an art fusion mix that makes it supreme in a lacking genre. Do not delay, buy this item!!! it's better than hunting down all those old issues.

Excellent storyline and great artwork. This graphic novel stands out as it takes the concept of superhero more sarcastically and manages to entertain and incite you throughout the novel. Quite a page turner, Highly recommended.
