Nice overiew of outdoors but I had to look at specific topic books for the level I required
on April 22, 2014
I bought this book as I wanted a definitive guide to all things outdoors and to cover things such as Kayaking paddling techniques, in a double Kayak who to be in the back vs front, what type of axe (splitting vs chopping) is best in which circumstance etc.
The book did not go into the depth I wanted, but that said is a really nice book at a 101 level.
I guess an encyclopedia in its truest form gives the history and an overview and this book does that well.
It will be a book we have in our cabin and I will keep thumbing through on rainy days or as a first place to get an answer - I just wont have the expectation it will go into the full details on specialist subjects, but that's ok.
