I devoured Songs of Submission in one big gulp! CD Reiss's writing is utterly addictive and a total rush. ~ Bella Andre, NYT bestselling author of "The Sullivans"

Songs of Submission sings out from the crowd, hitting notes of intellectualism and maturity that are hard to find in this genre while still being sinfully sexy. Definitely one of the best series I've read.--- Laurelin Paige, NYTIMES bestselling author

Monica is the struggling musician, working as a waitress as she waits to be discovered. That discovery comes, but not in the way she imagined. She captures the attention of Jonathan, who happens to own the establishment she just got fired from. One look and he knew he had to have her. Her music has been her passion and in order to allow that talent to breathe she had sworn off all men until Jonathan infiltrates her thoughts, imagining what his touch could do since just the way he looked at set her on fire.

Jonathan is not in a position to lend more than just his body. His heart is still tethered to his past and although Monica can sense that he could destroy her, she can't seem to say no.

This story gives you the struggle of a woman who is coming to terms with her willingness to submit to a man, leaning that it does not break her, degrade her or make her weak. It makes her loved. And the story of a man who lost control once and has fought every day to never let it slip from his grasp. But having to face that there are things in life you can’t control and times when you must bend.

I've read hundreds of romance/erotica reads in the last few years and not once has an author completely captivated me with their words the way that CDR has. Every single sentence in this series matters. There is no denying how hot the scenes are, but the beauty lies within every corner of this story. The way words are used to paint such vivid images. Monica has remained as one of my favorite heroines, she is fierce and never loses sight of who she is and what she wants. Jonathan intrigued me then won me over from my original reading of the series, but I have to say that knowing how this series plays out, seeing him during moments in this series moved me beyond words.

I am a longtime reader of steamy romance. Started way before the current craze and I have to admit, I'm picky. I want a great story, great characters and steamy scenes that actually move the story forward - not there for no reason.

This series has it all. I love Jonathan and Monica - they are so well written, you feel like you know them and really care about them and their lives. The secondary characters are great too. The sex scenes are steaming hot and part what draws them together.

This is one of those 'can't put it down until it's finished' books and I'm so glad I found it when the series was complete. I usually wait until they are finished as it drives me crazy when I have to wait to find out what happens. LOL

Fabulous story and if you love steamy erotic bdsm romance, this is one terrific series, here all in one book.

I think, for me, this story dragged on too long. I got bored by the fourth "book" and by the end of the fifth, I had reached the point where I was really wondering when the tale would be over and how much more I had to read to finish. I felt like Monica was in high school and more than once I found myself wondering just how old she was supposed to be. Her attitude was consistently similar to a teenager, rather than the twenty-something she was supposed to be and was really quite irritating by the end of the third book. Her character never developed beyond the stereotypical whiney, self-centered teenager. Jonathan was your typical billionaire, nothing really new or unique about his character.

I really don't understand why the author ended the series as she did (with his health issues). I felt like it didn't develop either main character or their relationship together. In fact the entirety of the last two "books" felt like a waste of time.

The sex is fairly prolific throughout the book and leans toward the kinky side. I feel like Ms. Reiss missed the mark on a true BDSM relationship between the two characters, though. The sex scenes didn't vary much, other than by location and I felt like it was a bit unrealistic that Monica was "always gushing wet" at the mere sound of Jonathan's voice. I also found difficulty with the fact that Jonathan was supposedly so rough with Monica that "every" time they had sex she came out of the experience so bruised and sore that she nearly couldn't walk, but the scenes weren't really written to make me believe such an outcome was possible, even if I believed that Monica bruised at the slightest touch.

Yay, finally! All 8 books in one bundle. I am one of those readers that gets confused on reading order unless it's stamped on the cover so you've lucked out if you're picking this up now, as one complete set. These are NOT short stories, the bundle is over 1,000 pages & well worth your time & money.

This is smart erotica, well written & beautiful. The characters are very real. I'm the first to admit I struggled with Jonathan a little early on. He was still pining over his ex-wife and I love an alpha book where the guy looks at the heroine & is all you are mine. Jonathan didn't do that. He was attracted to Monica, but he still had feelings over the loss of his marriage. A much more realistic introduction to a relationship.

Obviously Jonathan won me over. He grows as a character and his feelings for Monica grow and I got all my feels that I love feeling in a romance novel. The tide turns and Jonathan realizes he is love with Monica and it's downright delightful to watch happen.

Beautifully written, smart erotica.
