The story showcases characters that imbed into you because after reading it my thoughts were consumed by them. Plagued with thoughts of them long after the last page.
For Kit I adore her. She could commit multiple crimes and I would blackmail the president to get her presidential pardon. No seriously protect this spicy cinnamon roll. But there were times when I wanted to shake sense into her, only to have an urge to hug and protect her.
For Preston my feelings for Preston weaver between complex emotions. Such as I either want him to aggressively put pressure on my neck till I'm at purgatory confessing my sins or exorcise the demons aggressively around his neck until the devil's like yo chill. There's just always this in between and I'm cool with it. But gosh damn if I didn't connect even more to him wanting to stand with him at times. Other times maybe stand behind him to push him off a cliff. I did say it was complex.
The connection between Kit and Preston is hair pulling pleasurable and painful sometimes. Showing one doesn't need big displays of affection, when it exist by being in the same room so thick and intense like a lighting bolt ripping through the sky.
The story is beautiful in the sense that it's perfectly imperfect creating a raw realness to it. Sure we all dont have these same exact problems but the underlining issues are the monsters many of us can relate to.
~ Two Darlin Dolls and a Book Review.
It's that Ashley Jade magic! She creates characters that creep into your heart and pull on all your emotions. The good and bad. The pretty and ugly. I want to wrap these two in my arms, maybe punch them in the arm a few times (slight understatement), and at the same time make sure no one messes with them. This is what I mean about that Ashley Jade magic. She has me wanting to fight for and alongside her characters. I'm fully in their corner.
The story itself is building and intensifying. There's some slight twists, a bit of angst, and a whole lot of complicated parts (;
The finale is about to rip me up in all kinds of ways and I'm ready!
I’m definitely intrigued by Kit and how she struggles with those new feelings and still embracing her sexuality and being a lesbian.
Preston has his own secrets and his feelings for Kit is on another level than hers. Together they just work despite their at times exasperated relationship.
The ending left me wanting so much more from this couple and I’m so excited that we’re finally getting a conclusion to their story.
4 Push & Pull Stars
Two little childs in grown up bodies...check! Hard struggle to master life...Check! Difficult family situation...check! Souls shattered in tiny sharp pieces put back together all twisted and wrong and ludicrous shaped...check! Two bizarre wrong shaped sharp edged wrong rebuilt shadows that destroy themselves and all things around them but together they rebuilt into something special and unique and precious.
This are not only words anymore. Ashley Jade morphed them into colors and created brilliant pictures. Sometimes i just sat here and stared at sentences. Some sentences felt like very old and delicate lace, fragile and breakable, soft powdry pink or cream colored. Others were light and funny, bright yellow, make me giggle into my hand or just out loud. But most i liked the deep orange and red ones. Like a bright hot flame dancing on a stack of black coals. They whirl and twist, hypnotize and draw you in. I wanted nothing more than watch these flames for hours. Because this non couple has so much subtly powerful chemistry, it got me envy. This kind of connection between two people is what we are craving all our life.
I enjoyed this second part of the jouney and can't wait to continue. Bowing my head in awe. Thank you so much Ashley for your beautifully woven stories about exceptions and anomalies. Don't ever set for less than extraordinary. You rock.

I've never read a slow burn quite like the one these two have going on. They're literally driving me insane, shattering me into a million pieces whilst cementing themselves in my heart.
If you've read part one or Complicated Hearts you'll know
Preston and Kit have a very complex and unusual relationship, both flawed and damaged in their own ways.
But there is no denying the connection between them.
These two will put you through the wringer it's full on angst that'll leave you breathless. It's impossible not to get swept away with the complicated, thought provoking journey that makes Kit and Prestons story unique.
Kit is a fierce little force of nature even if she's a bit broken. She's loyal to a fault and wears her heart on her sleeve. I bloody love this chick to bits.
Preston is a stubborn angry guy. Sarcasm and clever wit come second nature. But he's also charming and charismatic which he uses to his advantage.
Loving Preston isn't hard, but getting to know the real Preston is why I love him.
These books are different and yes they're unconventional and not everyone's cup of tea but that's what makes them unforgettable. The Author took a chance and the gamble has paid off, now for me the stakes are even higher for book 3 but I'm definitely ALL IN.
However, they are both flawed characters so it makes sense and it is realistic character growth. It doesn’t stop it being so frustrating though. The one thing I do know is that I am rooting for their happy. They deserve to find some peace, clarity and to find each other in amongst it all.
I have to say the fight with Kit, Breslin, Landon, Asher and Preston was needed, there was a lot of tension that had to be faced and dealt with. I now get why there has to be 3 books in this series for Preston and Kit, they aren’t ready to get their ending just yet. However, as the story goes by, they learn a lot from each other and I’m really looking forward to seeing how their story ends.
Tears, hearts, laughter, love, angst, tenderness, and so much fire I'm surprised the house is still standing.
So much passion and heat between these two totally opposite characters. I LOVED THE DRAMA, the intense situations and emotions between the characters. Preston and Kit. Omg I absolutely love them.
So much going on but I still couldnt get enough and all these little hooks making up a big picture I cant wait to be unveiled in the next one.
My kindle was glued to my damn hand all night until I turned the last page, and what a story it was. I was on the edge of my seat until the very end.
PS Soooo still got a partial claim on my a-hole Preston, Ashley said so!
PPS its now 3:30am and I still havent slept because I can't stop thinking about this book.
I’ve been anxiously awaiting this story & omg it definitely did not disappoint!
We met kit & Preston in Complicated Hearts kit the pink hair vocal girl happy in her sexuality she’s been Breslin best friend for years & Preston the younger brother of Asher addicted to gambling any bet will do.
Their lives were entwined through betrayal, lies & addiction the story unfolds in a typical Ashley brilliance the conclusion cannot come fast enough.
Preston & Kit’s story can NOT be rushed these two characters are very vocal & two books would not do them justice.
Because there is no artifice in Complicated Parts. No special effects. It's a story based on two characters with complicated parts that decides to start an even more complicated journey. Yet, it’s one of the stories that’s obsessed me the most, got under my skin like not too many succeeded to do. And not this way.
From the very first two pages, you are drawn in at the speed of a typhoon ravaging everything in its path. Heck, a real F5 Tornado and that, before you even get the chance to take your next breath between the array of emotions you feel. And THIS torpidity linger from page one untill the last. In fact, as physically impossible as it may be according to the laws of physics, the storm only escalates as you move ahead in the story. Everything becomes more intense. Our connection with the characters; Preston and Kit’ connection; the emotions they make us go through... Because you don’t fall for them, you literally *crash* in love with them. Their story becomes our story. Their torments, ours. Their confusion and uncertainty, their emotions and flaws, their strengths and heartbreaks... Everything about this book capture us into its web. Once you open it up, everything ceases to exist around us, only to focus on everything #KITON; there’s only Ashley's incredibly beautiful words.
Kit and Preston’ story is uncommon but add to that Ashley Jade’s extraordinary pen, so unique and mesmerizing, passionate and enticing... The experience rapidly becomes purely mind blowing. She redefined through Preston and Kit the notion of carnal chemistry. Because for two characters whose parts do not fit together, their chemistry is so freaking intense, it transcends the law of physical attraction. THAT’S definitely the beauty of Complicated Parts. Preston and Kit’s connection is special. If there’s something called ‘love at first sight’, I would describe what Kit and Preston has as ‘soul mates at first sight’; This soul connection is what makes them reach out to one another. Even when obscured with anger, resentment and deceit, they can’t help but feel it, reaching them as far as into the depth of the night. It’s this connection that draws them to one another, drives their desire to know more of the each other, how they offer themselves over, no second thoughts... And that, even when everything else about them doesn’t fit.
“I’m his exception and he’s my anomaly” ~Kit
And THAT’s something I’ve rarely seen before; when their bodies connect, any way it can be, it‘s driven by this soul connection; that's how they belong. They GIVE and FEEL each other. Protecting, saving, and caring. Catching one another when they fall. This is why their chemistry is incredibly powerful. It’s palpable, relentlessly holds us breathless, keeping us on the edge of a turmoil of emotions and has us simultaneously feel everything they do. It transcends the pages to reach our own soul.
This book made me laugh, cringe, got me angry, broke my heart, kept me on the tip of my chair, turned me on, frustrated me and the most important of all, got me hook completely because I loved every single part of it, even the most complicated one.
Complicated Parts is what I feel, will be the most beautiful story Ashley Jade has ever written. Don’t get me wrong, each of her books has deepness and are extraordinary AF. But this one is different. It’s about how she managed all the complicated parts like a maestros, starting with the characters themselves—broken, full of flaws yet, so compelling and with whom you can’t help but falling in love—mastering their background and issues... and reinvented completely the definition of slow burns; because it might be a slow burn, but it’s one with the intensity of the flame of hell, wrapping you from the head to the tip of your toes. It’s insanely addictive, yet sinfully beautiful.
Ashley Jade might be the Queen of angst, something she confirmed again with this book, because it’s definitely hanging, but she is first and foremost, a Master in the art of bringing to life characters bigger than nature. She knows how to deliver their story in a way she can break our heart in thousand of pieces but also heal our shattered soul when she had us gone through the highest highs and lowest lows. With her, it’s never about the destination, always the journey.
