On the plus side. The chair looks sweet! It was very easy to assemble with the screws being in their designated spots it was nice not having to dig for them/figure out which ones go where. It seems to have sturdy stable wheels that don't feel like it's gonna roll out from under me all the time. Also, it comes with a couple of spare parts, not sure if that is altogether a plus or if it's a sign of known issues with the chair.
Would I recommend this chair? For the money, unless you can find something that is truly better, I would have to say yes. However, if you can afford to spend a little more money and intend to use it for an extended amount of time, then, by all means, do so.
The chair was reasonable comfortable and good back support even after hours of gaming, watching streaming content and um work. Except for problems might have kept the chair
Chair one was only used for a short time when the seat started wobbling on the mount. When leaning back at the 120 and 150 degree angles, the chair would tip over. The cover over the tilt mechanism was not completely attached. I returned the chair for replacement.
Replacement arrived and I began to assemble only to discover one of the screw insert wasn't attached and therefore I couldn't remove the screw. Also the cloth under the seat in that area was torn.
Not taking a chance on a third one.
I thought it was just a bad experience but I do not think I’ve been the only one with this issue. The chair quality is great but the manufacturer is very unprofessional. I would had loved this chair if it were not provided by this third party.
Opened up the box and at least they had the for thought to put all the screws in already so you didn't have to cut through those lovely screw packs with the cardboard backing that literally shreds as you are trying to pull it back. So everything went together, oddly they give you a white pair of gloves, I guess if I got the white fake leather one it would make more sense but I got the black and getting any of the random grease from other parts wouldn't have shown up.
So I got it all put together, even while putting it together you could smell the odor of the fake leather, its a little more intense once you actually sit in it. So I had to break it in, so went and ate some re-fried beans and then within an hour or so I was crop dusting the heck out of it to get that smell off me and it. Over a 24 hour period of crop dusting the pungent odor of the fake leather had finally raised the skid-marked surrender flag and its been good ever since. Pro tip, put some muenster cheese on top of the beans.
Also while putting it together I did man handle the zippers, because they cut the tabs off (no peeking for you!), to take a look at the foam. The advertisement online raved about the 'foam sponge' and how much better and longer the chair will last...yeah it's just ordinary foam in there...all marketing and no advantage.
So now I got to work a little bit in the chair and then comes another disappointment, the arm rests. In the description it clearly states "Armrest:4D Multi-Function Lifting Armrest" so if you are like me you expect it to raise, lower, tilt in and out...No, it goes up and down.
They also talk about built in lumbar support, yeah not seeing or feeling that built in feature. I don't consider myself a tall guy, more like at the top of average being slightly over 6'3", but when I sit in this chair the plastic 'breather holes' I'll call them, hit right in the middle of my scapula and becomes uncomfortable after a short period of time. What I end up doing is adjust the angle of back and slouching a little which my Dr would love to hear about, but makes for better comfort level now that I'll just like with later as a hunchback probably.
The chair itself is also hot, not hot like cool/whack but like sweat and inequality of you front side being cool while you have sweat beading down the backside crack. I honestly thought it was originally due to my concentration during the crop dusting phase of breaking it in because I wanted to ensure I didn't produce any wet crop dusting. But still have about 2 weeks in the chair it is always hot to sit in.
The chair is also already starting to squeak, which is anoying, you think that would start happening after the warranty expires, which I'm not sure is 12-months or 3-years, they mention both with one being the bullet points at the top and the later being in the description. I'm guessing 12-months because the whole 4D armrests was in the bottom and since that didn't seem to happen I'll assume the 3-years of support/warranty isn't going to happen.
The adjustment for the back to angle back is like your old pre-2000 car and resembles that of those car's emergency break handle, this handle just doesn't have the release button or lead based fake woodgrain epoxy ...but may still have the lead based paint.
I do also want to note that the chair seems to have a little bit of problem with getting some good height out of it, seems to be more on the lower side. It can't go down to the floor, has that whole cylinder under it, but even with the armrests all the way up and the chair all the way up it doesn't touch the bottom of my desk. It just a normal, pressed wood desk, nothing fancy like those stand up desks, which if I had one of those I clearly wouldn't be needing this chair right?
The wheels are OK, they will not be your friend when you are sitting on the chair in some shag carpet, can you say face plant? Yeah you should remember that after the first couple of times of doing that, that is if you don't lose your short term memory with the multiple face plants. Just take the time and get your stair climbing in by getting up, move the chair and sit back down. My garmin watch thought that I climbed a floor of stairs just by doing this multiple times of a couple hour session.
Good Luck if you are like me and can't blow $300+ on a gaming chair, but if you are like me and have a budget to live by then I doubt the others in this price range will be any better or maybe any worse.
