Possible solution to "fit" issue
on January 7, 2015
After reading all the "doesn't fit" reviews on the ConairPro Prostyler Finger Diffuser, I still decided to give it a try anyway due to low price. So, I should not have been surprised when it would not stay on my Conair Cord-keeper 1875. After deciding it was going in the trash because it kept popping off the end, I started thinking of a way to "rig" it to work. It slide on with pressure, it just would not stay on...The problem is the 1" wide rubber band inside the cylinder, holding the prongs in a cinched position. You have to look for it behind the prongs. The tension of this causes the unit to literally "pop" off the dryer. So, what the heck...I was going to pitch it anyway....I cut the band through the prongs, and Wallah! It worked and now the diffuser stays on my dryer perfectly. Perhaps it is there for shipping and handling and meant to be removed...although there is not instruction to do so. No promises it will work on your dryer, but it now grips and stays on mine beautifully. I've attached a pic so you could see the band that I cut and removed. I have given it 3 starts because now I love it but boy, this product packaging and instruction needs some attention.
