Like the first two books I found an editing error though this time only one when the wrong character's name was used but other than that a wonderful book.
Adelle is a modern, free spirited, outspoken 50 something woman of the 21st century who follows her daughter back to 1640 Scotland. This Christmas novella is all about Adelle and one can only fall deeper in love with her. Adelle's 21st century female gumption may or may not land her the 17th century man of her dreams(no spoiler alert here).
If you have a couple of free hours between holiday festivities treat yourself to this enchanting and cozy holiday story about courage, forgiveness, new beginnings, and of course, Ms. Claire's specialty: Magical Romance.
Adelle is a bit shocked, but in awe, that she's soon to become a grandmother. How could she be that old yet feel so young? Loneliness haunts her and often keeps her awake. She is active, young at heart and mind, and eager to live but any prospects for a "woman of age" in the past to find love is downright impossible. Until she finds a near frozen puppy in the snow. And, a very handsome but shy man her own age holding an equally frozen puppy a few yards away.
Sparks fly. Love heats things up. A New Years Wedding is celebrated.
The best thing about this book is this: it clearly shows that a woman "of age" can fall in love just as giddily and head over heels as any teenager or young woman can. Perhaps even more so because those of us who fit that criteria have been through the crushes, heartaches, true love, and heartbreaks of life and love.
