I quite enjoyed the opening little 3 issue arc in this volume, a lot more could have been done with the concept. The final 4 issues that concluded the Belit tale were truly somewhat sad. As much as Wood's work on the title has been really hit and miss (mostly miss) I've grown used to seeing these characters (Belit, N'Gora, N'Yaga, etc) and knowing they were going down to die was a bad feeling when opening the book. I have to admit, Wood somewhat redeemed his Conan run with a good strong ending. I'm not a Wood basher by any means, I love a lot of his work (especially Northlanders) but we can all agree that his Conan was drastically different in tone, mood, art, interpretation, etc. However this conclusion really hit home for me and I think eventual re-readings of his run will hold up better when you can digest the entire thing at once.
