Rating would have been a 4 except this has a "cliffhanger" conclusion. I really enjoy Alana Albertson's characters - Mia is strong willed, independent and fierce. She knows exactly what she wants (to exonorate her brother) and does not let anything stand in her way. I feel that the SEALs in this story leave something to be desired re: loyalty and team.
As she get's closer to Grant she feels like he might be figuring out who she is, but he can't since she doesn't look anything like her real self. But some things aren't that easy to change, and some of those things are surfacing without her really knowing that she is letting it show. Grab a copy it is well worth the read and it's free with KU.
So I literally finished this book and I was left wanting so much more. This is only because IT ENDS IN A CLIFFHANGER. I really thought it would have been resolved but I guess there are about 6 books more until we know what is going to happen. I do have to say despite all of that, I still thoroughly enjoyed this book. I think Mia is one of the craziest protagonists that I have ever read. She is stubborn and literally would do anything for someone she cares about. I want her by my side as an ally. Then she has to continue interacting with her ex-boyfriend as a "new girl". This is so beyond crazy. I absolutely love it!!! Everyone should read this amazing book!!! It's a beautiful start!!!
The Navy Seal team that Joaquin🐺🔪🔫 was on, have a one for all, all for one attitude. That includes not divulging any info about the strangulation murder of a stripper found in Joaquin's bed after the teams all 🌙night drunken 🍸party.
Joaquin's sister, Mia💋, a college student, attempts to help him after he is accused of the crime and denied bail. Joaquin🐺🔪🔫 refuses to talk to her, even though she knows he is innocent! He tells her to leave it alone and that he's probably going to take a plea bargain!
What is Mia💋 going to do? One of the SEAL team members, Grant🐺🍌🌋, is her X boyfriend. He refuses to talk to her, and slams the door in her face.
Mia💋 is a theater major in college, she's going to somehow use her acting skills to infiltrate the team and get some answers.
The book ends in a Cliffhanger! The next book is Chronic.
This is what I would call an Erotic Crime novel. It's well written and held my interest all the way through. It's a page turner, as the story follows Mia's desperate but stubborn attempt to clear her brother and find out the truth. Highly recommend!
There were a fair number of misspellings and omitted words, wrong words used. The book needs editing.
I couldn't put this one down. The lengths Mia goes to in order to clear her brother, Joaquin's, name is amazing. I can't wait to see how far she takes her ruse in the stories to come. This is told from both Mia's and her ex-boyfriend, Grant's, point of view. It's sad to see how much they've missed out on by not communicating with each other. Hopefully Mia's plan brings them back together instead of pushing them further apart.
*I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book. This is my honest review.*
OMG this was one amazing story, but UGH it ends with a cliffhanger.
I LOVED how much Mia sacrificed to help her brother, to prove he was
not a murderer.
Story leads as to a sister who loves her brother and doesn't want to see him in Prison for a crime he didn't commit. But how can she get her answers. Her brother is a Navy Seals, and with codes and honors from there brother Navy Seals, hush hush to the party where he was found with a dead body next to him. Mia will do anything, up to an extreme, will she have convinced her Ex, Grant, Navy Seals, best friends with her brother Joaquin, but will not talk to her about that night. None of the people that were at that party will talk. His trial is coming up, and he told his Sister to forget about him, and to leave the guys alone. Will she stop? She wants to save her brother. But Mia goes on to change herself, and hopefully be able to convince Grant, he can trust her, as Ksenya. But after a night together, his dog gets close to her, that makes him wonder, is this Mia.
Grant will find out, BUT omg you have to wait till the next book to see how he does or if he does
