Editorial Reviews
Review
‘Mary Fulbrook guides the reader through the complexities of German history with energy and aplomb. Her newly updated Concise History of Germany is authoritative, thought-provoking and lively, illuminating key debates and conveying the larger sweep of political, social, economic and cultural developments over a long time span alongside sharply drawn key episodes. It is the ideal introduction to German history, right up to the present day.' Elizabeth Harvey, University of Nottingham

Her treatment of the recent history of Germany is clear and analytical.
Highly enjoyable and highly recommended.

I feel that it is weighted to recent history. We are all familiar with Merkel and Kohl, but many Anglo-Saxons would be quite interested in the activity in Germania further back in time.
