I bought this not as a fin straightener but for ice removal on my windshield. The only down side that I can see is that for my purposes it could use a longer handle as it won't reach the center of my windshield without leaning on the fender and getting ice or snow on your clothing. Of course I realize this is not it's intended purpose but it works well for it.

I had no idea that the fins on a window air conditioner could be repaired, and that it would bring the unit back to peak efficiency. This thing is the bomb. We keep our window shakers in the closet in the off season, and they get pretty dinged up. Between using the spray on coil cleaner and then combing the fins back into shape, it's like they are new again. Totally worth it. And, cheap enough it's worth a shot, right?

The repair company wanted to sell me a new ac System for $8000. Someone suggested I begin by straightening out the fins. This tool did the job and system is back to working well. If fins are not aligned well air cannot pass through them resulting in poor performance. This tool restores proper spacing of fins in an easy to use design
