CONDOR TOOL & KNIFE traces its proud history back to 1787, the year GERB WEYESBERG COMPANY was founded in Solingen, Germany. The quality of the swords, military knives, agricultural tools and household cutlery they manufactured made Solingen the cutlery capital of the world. Over the generations, the world’s largest manufacturer of swords and knives found it necessary to expand operations to other countries to better serve its customers. In 1964, the company formed IMACASA with a new plant in Santa Ana, El Salvador and filled it with state of the art German equipment. Some of the original local employees who were sent to Solingen for extensive training forty years ago are still working in the factory today, turning out the finest quality machetes, shovels and other hand tools.

I bought this knife and gave it real field use, batoning, sparking off a ferro rod, etc. It works great.
The knife has a good solid wood grip, solid full tang carbon steel blade, and an amazingly high quality leather sheath.
The price to quality ratio is in excess of what you would expect of a 35.00 knife.
It maintains an edge is easy to resharpen and you can easily clean a fish.
The knife is one of the few things that I have seen that does truly perform as it is advertised to do.
I would not spend the extra money on the micarta, but that's because I like the traditional look.
If you buy this knife you will not be dissappointed, It WILL perform, and perform very well.
I said entry level only because as we progress in our craft we evolve and you may want to move up to another knife.
For myself this knife will always be in my kit.
I have to say since purchase this knife has held up amazingly, it has been abused and still holds an edge and is still easy to maintain.Seriously this knife performs. If you are just getting into bushcraft, hiking and scouting get this knife, it is an ideal belt knife. coupled with my folding saw, hatchet, or tomahawk. it performs amazing for the money. I can't say enough.
Buy this knife.
I have used this on three seperate trips now and it has held up flawlessly. It holds and takes an edge well. I have used it on a fire steel. I have used it for basic camping, cooking, fishing tasks. This is a solid knife for the price.
If you were to lose it, you will not be kicking yourself and crying into your years worth of MREs.
This is a solid purchase and I may get one for each vehicle at this price.
