Product Description
CONDOR TOOL & KNIFE traces its proud history back to 1787, the year GERB WEYESBERG COMPANY was founded in Solingen, Germany. The quality of the swords, military knives, agricultural tools and household cutlery they manufactured made Solingen the cutlery capital of the world. Over the generations, the world’s largest manufacturer of swords and knives found it necessary to expand operations to other countries to better serve its customers. In 1964, the company formed IMACASA with a new plant in Santa Ana, El Salvador and filled it with state of the art German equipment. Some of the original local employees who were sent to Solingen for extensive training forty years ago are still working in the factory today, turning out the finest quality machetes, shovels and other hand tools. The overall length of the knife is 14.25” and the blade length is 8.5.

I will update this review as time goes on and I'm able to put this knife to use in the real world.
Shipping... Knife shipped reasonably fast. No complaints there.
Packaging and packing.... Knife arrived in its Condor box with the shipping label on it. No attempt to protect our disguise what the item was. No outer box, nothing. Maybe not necessary however I'm not impressed with how it was shipped. Granted the seller did tape the box so it wouldn't accidently come open in transit. I'll say I'm neutral on this.
The knife right out of the box... The finish or lack of on the sides of the blade is not shown in the product images. It reminds me of an old leaf spring of a truck. Pitted and rough in appearance. Yes I am being harsh here intentionally. If you're expecting a nicely finished smooth sided blade you're going to be disappointed. I'm not sure how to exactly feel about this as I like it in the fashion it fits the blades character possibly more so than a finely finished on all sides blade would. On the other hand if it was virtually any other knife I own I would be absolutely pissed!!! So I guess this wins out on the character side of being a mountain mans knife and not an easterners pen knife.
Blade edge and sharpness... While not a razor blade the knife is suitably sharp. I've been buying to many knives lately and am running out of hair on my arms and being unwilling to shave my legs I can't say for certain if it'll pop hair or simply shave it off. Suitably sharp none the less.
Overall fit and finish.... This knife appears to have been finished by hand. Not in a negative way mind you simply put it's just not perfect. I'll try to explain. The back of the spine, grip area, etc are nicely polished and very smooth! Beautifully done!! However looking at the angles in the light you can see they're not machined perfect. They're not grossly out of whack or anything just you can tell someone took the time to finish this knife by hand and did a rather good job of it!!
The scales transition smoothly to the steel between them with no lips or sharp edges. The scales are smooth and beautifully pinned in place. The knife and handle feel quite amazing in the hand like a proverbial worn smooth bar of soap.
Where the handle meets the blade and your booger picking finger contacts steel is nicely polished smooth and transitions well. Nothing to cause any discomfort chopping or using this knife. Again very well done!
I can choke up on the blade and even with no choil by placing my thumb out on the spine I feel I'll have enough control for finer tasks.
The sheath while simple is as others have noted of extremely high quality and well crafted!!! It fits the blade well and turning the sheathed knife upside down and shaking a bit rougher than gently the knife doesn't fall out. Sheathed only 1.5-2" if handle is exposed. Enough to get it out but not enough for a full grip on the draw.
This knife exudes a ton of character and personality. Holding it in my hand it makes me want to grab my pack, strap this knife onto my belt, and head for the wilds of the deep Sierra Nevada, the UP, Alaska, etc and get lost for awhile! I screams "I AM A MOUNTAIN MAN BY GOD AND I'M TIRED OF THIS CIVILIZED LIFE!!!" Makes a man feel that grizzly had better bring some lube cause this mountain man is going to f his s up!!! Lol
So yeah I love the knife!!! It's not perfect but it's beautiful and well done. It looks like and feels like what it's supposed to be. I've got no complaints and will buy more for my kids, friends, and family as gifts. Everyone I know that has a little bit of the wilds in them will receive one of these as money allows.
If you want a perfectly machined, cold, heartless knife with no soul pass on this. If you want a knife that looks and feels hand made with love that makes you want to seek out and attend your first rendezvous then you owe it to yourself to buy one of these!!!
I hope this review helps someone out.
If you found this review helpful please let Amazon know by clicking helpful, however if your didn't then please I implore you let Amazon know as well. There's to many meaningless reviews on Amazon in general that serve to do no good but take up space and I don't want to be that guy!
I purchased my own knife with my own money, received no discounts or sexual favors for a positive review. My efforts are too simply provide your with an honest review showing the good, bad, and ugly about items I buy. I hope I have succeeded.
Thank you for reading and again I hope this helps someone out.
If you are still on the fence about this knife let me tell you about the sheath. It is every bit as nice as the knife and as real as they come. The belt loop is fastened to the scabbard by a single rivet and can swing to get out of the way of your movement. Some people might find this too much movement and it can be corrected with another rivet, or some leather thread really quick. I plan on making a matching frog for this sheath and attaching it to my gun belt.
This isn't a pairing knife, it isn't a tacti-cool knife, it isn't a 300 dollar exotic wood slab with gold and fairy dust sprinkled on it. This is a tool made for chopping and for rough use. The lifetime warranty from Condor is a fantastic bit of comfort but I doubt I will ever need it.
UPDATE: I have had this knife for a year now. It has been used almost every single day in one way or the other. I have batoned with it, chopped with it, used it to prepare meals in the field, used it as a flint striker, and used it to whittle with great success. Heck, I even beautified it a little. This knife is the one for me. I haven't even looked at another knife for over a year now. I even bought one for my wife's equipment. If I had to pick only one knife for an extended wilderness adventure, this would be my pick without a doubt.
I stripped off the coating on the blade, blued it using mustard and wasabi sauce and spent some time sharpening it (actually a lot of time). This is a knife you can use right out of the box for sure. But if you are handy with steel and know a little here and there you can turn this knife into a companion!
I will update this review if anything changes, but after a year I think this knife will belong to one of my family after I kick the bucket, it will outlast me. Add another star to my 5 stars!

Fakten:
- C75 Kohlenstoff Stahl (ca. 55-58 HRC)
- 5mm dick
- Convex-Schliff

Vielleicht daher so gut gearbeitet ?
Fazit : Ein toller Kauf !
