Story

Waking up on an offshore oil rig Michael Ford recalls the escape that he was able to pull off at the conclusion of the original game, The Conduit. At that point it was made clear that things were not as he had been led to believe. The shadow government that he was once an agent of had in fact been coopted by an alien agenda unleashed by a man he once trusted, while the alien Drudge forces although still a deadly force, came to be seen as not quite the single-minded terror that they once seemed. But that was DC and this was another place entirely. Ford's mastery of alien conduit technology provided for his escape, as well as a second chance not only to save the human race, but also to exact revenge for the double cross that made him a pawn in a game whose players are only now becoming visible.

Gameplay

Like the original The Conduit game, Conduit 2 is a FPS developed specifically for the Wii platform, with players again stepping into the boots of series hero Michael Ford. Gameplay is mission-based with Ford in pursuit the alien Adams/Enlil, the betrayer of the US and the world from the first game. To do this players will take advantage of an improved arsenal of weapons and weapon features, the puzzle-solving ability and all-around guidance of the levitating handheld device known as the All-Seeing-Eye (ASE) and of course alien conduit technology that allows Ford to travel to the game's different physical environments. Additional features that impact gameplay include: much more expansive, nonlinear game levels, many of which allow for multiple paths toward a set endpoint; environments that are able to be altered or destroyed by Ford or his enemies in order to survive conflicts and succeed in battle; the addition of larger than life bosses to the alien Drudge hordes that pursue Ford; improved overall control response and support for the Wii MotionPlus accessory; and extensive multiplayer functionality including co-op support up to four players with split screen functionality, 12-player support online and online chat via the Headbanger headset (sold separately).

Conduit 2 was awesome. Bit different from other wii games. This is the best shooter game I have come across. Their are plenty of different types of weapons, sometimes game seems a little bit slow though, but combat is completely unaffected. Lots of hidden items.

Don't buy this game. It has a bug that makes it unplayable after about 10 minutes. In level 1 on the oil rig you'll go through a door out onto a ledge. There's a locked gate to your right that is supposed to open automatically. It doesn't open and you are trapped - can't go forward, can't go back, can't play the rest of the game.

The developer High Voltage Software acknowledged the bug in 2011 (search Google for "Conduit 2 full patch update") and provided a downloadable fix. However, Nintendo has shut down the multiplayer / update servers because the Wii is old. So you can't get the fix.

If you buy this game you (or your child) will be very disappointed.

The saga of Secret Service Agent Michael Ford continues. When we last saw Mr. Ford (The Conduit) he had just stopped Adams's plan to destroy DC and stepped into an open Conduit into the unknown. This game picks up exactly where the first left off, Michael emerges on a Trust controlled offshore oil rig off "The East coast of Florida" (also known as The Bermuda Triangle) that is being attacked by a massive mechanical serpent called Leviathan. This game spans the globe from DC to England, China to Siberia as you piece together the threads of the Invasion and you learn Michael's true destiny.

The game Controls have been improved and utilise the Wiimotion Plus and aside from a few glitches (such as getting stuck behind trees) it's worth the price. I was disappointed that the original voice cast (Ford: Mark Shephard, Adams: W. Morgan Shephard and Prometheus: Kevin Sorbo) didn't return but other than that I highly recommend this game.

I played through the original Conduit game, which I still own, twice and enjoyed the game each time. I found that the graphics were particularly good for a Wii game and the story wasn't all that bad. I had hoped the sequel would live up to the standards, but I was thoroughly let down.

Conduit 2 leaves much to be wanted. First of all, the graphics were dumbed down considerably. True, the original game's graphics exceeded the capabilities of the Wii and had some rendering issues, but this game is literally ugly to look at. Second, the story is appears to be haphazardly slapped together simply because one is needed. All of these flaws could be overlooked if the gameplay itself were decent, but of course, it's not. I find absolutely nothing about this game that makes me want to play it.

If you're a fan of the original Conduit game and were thinking about playing this, I don't recommend it. Stay away and keep your positive thoughts about the original game.

Conduit 2 is a really fun game with very good graphics and beautiful levels. It has both split screen and online multiplayer game play. You can customize your character (avatar) with various suits, colors, equipment, weapons, and specials. You can play as soldiers, destroyers (armor seen on box art), female destroyers, alien warriors, stone statues, and more. I highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a great shooter for the Wii. It works with the Headbanger headset, classic controller, nunchuck, and motion controls. A must get!

OVERALL:
It's got lot's of nice features, but some missions in the campaign you could tell where thrown together to save time. HVS had to push the release date back twice on this game, and apparently some things had still been rushed, but the environments you go to are really varied. I'm going to go over all the features.

CAMPAIGN:
The campaign was average FPS length, and had lots of cool hidden items. The hidden items gave you clues about aliens being in human history and such like the Nazi bell. Unfortunately you can not replay the levels that are in the different areas of Atlantis (Atlantis is like a safe house between missions.) All though the hidden items are really cool, they are way to easy to find. Also it would have been nice to be rewarded for beating the game in the hardest difficulty.

INVASION MODE(1-4):
Invasion Mode was okay, but got boring, because the maps are small and there are only three of them. It was really nice that it had 1-4 players. The graphics in invasion mode where drastically reduced.

VERSUS MULTIPLAYER ONLINE(2-12) AND LOCAL(2-4):
It was really nice to have the versus multiplayer online and split-screen. The graphics in split-screen where reduced as well. It had lots of maps and modes to play in!

STORE AND PROFILE:
The profile and the store are really big improvements. There is lots of varied weapons, upgrades, characters, and armor parts you can get in the store. The profile let you edit your character and load out which you can use in all versus multiplayer, campaign, and invasion mode! You can also see the achievements you unlocked here.

This game is fun. I really like the controls because they are more customizable than any other fps that I have played. The graphics are good but come on its the wii. People should give this game a go.
