the weapons are also very unique. there are three main groups of guns. the human, trust, and drudge weapon set. the human weapon set is very simple. it includes a sniper rifle, bazooka, submachine gun, and a very cool pistol. the trust's weapons are more advanced. such as a laser gun, a type of grenade launcher, and a very large weapon called the carbonizer. the drudge guns are also unique. if you are playing the game and stay still you will notice that the guns are alive. or they seem alive. that set includes a gun that shoots a glob of biomass, a gun that shoots spheres that are controlled by the shooter, and a pistol that can richochet off of the wall.
the online multiplayer on The Conduit is probibly the best that i have ever seen. the friend system is easy to use, and there is very little lag. i rate the multiplayer along with games like Modern Warfare. the only problem with the multiplayer is the fact that it is unprotected when it comes to hackers. so if you do play online you may see some players who can jump out of the map, or who can kill you with one shot, even people who just cant die. however there is a way to even the match up.
if you see someone with an automatic shotgun, pistol, or even bazooka, do not be worried. what you need to do to is you need to get three weapons in front of an ammo cache. one in youre hand, one in youre inventory, and one on the ground. so it could be like this. pistol in youre hand, bazooka in youre inventory, and a machine gun on the ground. the ammo chache has to be the same type as the one on the ground. so if it is the human machine gun on the ground, you have to be standing in front of a human ammo box. the way to get the gun in front of the ammo box is difficult. accualy there are two ways. one is to die in front of the box with the machine gun in hand and go back there before someone else picks it up. the other is to drag and drop. that involves switching guns with a gun on the ground while moving closer to the ammo box. also, the gun on the ground and the gun in youre inventory are the guns that are being morphed. the ideal combo is a bazooka in youre inventory, a machine gun on the ground and any gun in youre hand. once you get the three guns in front of the correct ammo cache you must push the correct buttons at the right time. you need to push the minus button and the right button at the same time. then, while still holding down minus and right, push the A button. you should also know that the way this glitch works is that the gun in youre inventory gets the ammo ammount and speed of the gun on the ground.
if done correctly you should have an automatic bazooka. well, actualy that depends on the guns you have. however do not do that when you are using a chargable gun.
over all i give the conduit a 10 out of 10. i believe that this is a must have game for all wii owners.
In short: A must have for Wii owners.
Rating: T for Teen - I think this is important to note... this is a hardcore Wii game, but without all the un-necessary bad language and excessive blood. Parents will like this.
Graphics: The graphics are outstanding for a Wii game, Not perfect, but the use of bump maps and lighting (among other special effects) really sets the stage for a great presentation. Another thing I noted was the fluid animation of the enemies. Plays very smoothly at 30FPS in 480p. The subway area is amazing looking with metallic reflections and great visual effects. The downside is that not all of the areas have the same quality. The quality is varied throughout the game and is noticeable uon close inspection. Also, a very noticeable problem is that grenade blasts and smoke go right through walls. But overall this is the best looking FPS on the Wii and second best looking game on Wii (Mario Galaxy has set the bar very high). One may even mistake this game for a Xbox 360 game upon first viewing!
Sound: The music is stunning, although it lacks punch on the Wii. See diego-stocco on google. When listening to the sound track on my PC is sounded higher quality. The sound effects are very good especially the guns and grenades. Very satisfying. This game also rocks with Dolby Pro-Logic II. It works just as expected and sounds great on my Pioneer 5.1 setup. Also has good voice acting.
Gameplay: The controls are the most configurable controls I have ever had on a Console game. This translates into the Best FPS shooter controls of any system (for anyway a person wants to play). It took me about an hour to tweak the controls to my exact liking. The default control settings seem to be a bit slow for a seasoned games. so definitively adjust your control to your liking. But now I can pull off headshots with ease. The single player game seams to be around six or seven hours. High Voltage Studios added lots of little touches, like radio's that can be tuned, computers and interesting posters and the like around the game. The downside to the game play is that it is very linear... very scripted. But is is non the less still very fun. I believe there is to be a sequel. This is a great stepping stone to greatness, but they will to kick it up a notch to achieve this end.
Multiplayer: Very very good. Its like Halo. Supports Wii speak for ingame chat Read the game description for all the modes.
In closing: Great game. Not perfect, but a very good start. I cant wait to see the games that follow from this developer.
+Great Controls - Customizable
+Great Graphics - Effects make the difference
+Great Multiplayer - supports Wii speak.
+Good Sound - Especially the Sound effects and Dolby Pro Logic. Very good sound track, but lacks punch (may be a Wii limitation).
-Weak Story -
-Single Player Game is to short
-Inconsistent level design quality
In short: A must have for Wii owners. BUY THIS GAME!
