But that can't happen, which means she must face the music... and hope she hasn't screwed up everything her and Lucas have built over the last several years!
Confessions of a Bookaholic is a delightfully penned tale that will have you smiling throughout, it's a can't miss read! Macy was an absolute hoot, her quirky personality shined through on every page, and her counterpart did a little shining of his own too... Lucas was downright dreamy! I have to say this story was the fresh breath of air I needed, I have been in a little reading funk as of late, and it's creative and captivating story line pulled me right out of it, and set me straight! We all know alcohol leads us to make mistakes once in a while and poor Macy really did a number on her personal life, but I think she handled it like a champ, I admired her strength and determination. It was heartbreaking though to see Lucas declare his love for another full well knowing he was making a mistake, and declaring it to the wrong person. But things worked out the way they should have, and my heart has never been happier, these two really took me on a fun little escape, one I loved every minute of!!
If you are in a need of a sweet heart-squeezing little escape I highly suggest you get your hands on this one, it's bound to give just what you are looking for and more!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
I liked Macy and Lucas; there is a sweetness to them, but I found some of their actions and choices to be quite baffling. For two people who have been best friends since childhood, and who live together, they were really bad at communicating and talking about the important stuff. Instead, they hide and avoid, creating problems where there shouldn’t be. I found that to be a bit strange. Drama for the sake of drama? Maybe?
Confessions is a light and flirty read with entertaining side characters, but overall this will not be a re-read for me.
When Macy Sinclair finds out that her best friend and long time crush is getting married, she is devastated and heart broken. It’s after a late night with her friends and too many drinks that she ends up accidentally publishing her digital diary online. As a former content creator for a popular book-review blog called Confession of a Bookaholic, Macy has a big following and it’s her entry that goes viral really fast. Realizing that she made a terrible mistake, she rushes to delete her post hoping that Lucas doesn’t see it before it’s too late.
Ever since Lucas Sinclair met Macy, he has always liked her and over the years his feelings have developed into something more. But it’s their very friendship that has made it difficult for him to come out and tell her how he feels. He vowed to move on especially with his football career taking off and proposing to his girlfriend seemed like a good idea at the time. Little did he know that his plan would end backfiring on him and reading Macy’s post would change their lives forever.
I absolutely loved reading this book, perfect for those us that are hopeless romantics when it comes to book boyfriends. Lucas is the perfect guy who is sweet and caring towards Macy. He pays attention to he likes and even reads her blog. That’s how much he for her! On the other hand, Macy is funny and smart. She has dreams of writing for his huge magazine, but that’s when a lot of little issues start to come out and challenge their relationship. They are going into different directions and they have to find way back to each other if they want to be together. As the story is told in dual POV, we get take a peek into what’s truly going on in each character and why they make the choices that they chose to make. Although there isn’t a huge conflict in story, we do a few twists to keep us hooked until the very end. The ending was sweet and swoon worthy, cannot recommend this story enough! I can’t wait to read more from the author in the future. ;)
